Hi everyone, im a new member, although I have scouted through these forums for the last 2 years reading everyones stories and looking for information to help me become pregnant.
I am 39 years old and married finally at 37

, after initially TTC for 12 months I went to an IVF clinic and was told my FSH was too high and that I had low ovarian reserve and that IVF would not work on me. I was advised to use an egg donor for the best success. While the doctor mentioned there was still a chance to fall pregnant naturally the chances were low as he said with my scores I was practically close to early menopause.
I was obviously shattered as I had always thought that IVF clinics were for all fertility issues, plus friends and family had all had babies into their early 40's so I did not realise just how lucky they had been!
It made me wish that I had of had my eggs retrieved and frozen when I was younger. I have now been telling friends under the age of 35 to not just assume things will work when they finally settle down and want to have children.
After going through many forums from women with similar issues I began to try out things that worked for them. I began seeing a fertility acupuncture doctor for both herbs and acupuncture. He also told me to avoid dairy and use almond milk as a replacement and to limit processed foods and refined sugars. He worked on my stress levels, and increasing blood flow to the ovaries and uterus as well as fertility herbs. He mentioned that it takes at least 90 days for the ovaries to begin producing healthier eggs and a healthier lining. I also began taking wheat grass shots, Royal Jelly (do not use if allergic to bees), CoQ10 and elevit. This year I then added DHEA (homeopathic version) to the mix. DHEA is recommended for 3-4 months, however its best you speak to your doctor before beginning it as some people convert the DHEA to testosterone instead of estrogen. Then 3 months ago I had a tubal patency test done with ultrasound. I was told that after having this procedure the chances of natural pregnancy increases for a few months as the tubes and uterus are cleaned out with the fluid. Finally I have been able to get a BFP this week!!

It's still early at 4 weeks and ive been put on progesterone and clexane injections to help reduce miscarriage due to blood or hormone issues. I am hoping though that this one sticks and I wanted to not only share my journey with you all, but to also give anyone who is in a similar situation some ideas to help them fall pregnant naturally too.
