Any middle-of-the-night snack ideas?

I don't post much but it's super helpful reading others' posts in this group and I'm glad to be a part of it! What are your go-to snacks for yourself for those middle of the night feedings? No matter how much I eat before bed, around 3am I am famished (I'm breastfeeding). Of course the snacks need to be fast and filling. Thanks!

Re: Any middle-of-the-night snack ideas?

  • I have a stash of Luna bars and popcorners I ordered from amazon. It's like a 40 pack of snack bags.

  • Nothing healthy.

Ice cream, Popsicles, scoops of peanut butter, and I've been losing my mind on pumpkin seeds lately. My lips are so salty and gross. But dem seeds tho. So good.

Your mention of pumpkin seeds just reminded me of an unopened bag of bbq sunflower seeds that I bought and still haven't opened. This needs to be remedied.

OP - I don't snack for my MOTN feedings, but love granola bars as snacks. For the MOTN, I typically have a large glass of water and then it's back to bed for me.

You people wake up enough to eat?  I do everything I can to stay half asleep for the MOTN feeding so I can get back to sleep quickly.

I keep water by the bed.  Does that count?
This EXACTLY. I feed, take a few large gulps of ice water from my new found 32oz contigo bottle and I'm back to ZZZZzzzz..... I even try not to open my eyes if I don't have to for risk of actually waking up haha.

But if I must chime in on snacks in general I bought Costco's trek mix.. It's pretty good. It has almonds, cashews, pumpkin seeds ( @jensavicci just for you lol), cinnamon granola, and dark chocolate. It's got the whole salty sweet thing going on and has held my sweet tooth over well.

  • Fiber one protein bars is my go to snack
  • Muffin or granola bar are my go to for at night. Sometimes a protein shake if I feel like walking downstairs to the fridge
  • Cereal bars, fruit snacks, and a huge bottle of water
  • Another vote for granola bats! Not healthy ones though...chocolate chip is more my speed ;)

  • A lactation cookie or two, a 90 cal oatmeal raisin granola bar, a banana, Ritz's crackers with peanut butter, if I'm starving I'll fix a pb&j or bowl of cereal with almond milk. Those are my go to late night snacks.

I second the trek mix. DH found it during our last Costco run. Sooo good!

  • I precut some cheese and have cheese, crackers and pepperoni.    I also have a nectarine or banana.  I feel like I hit all the food groups!  Pepperoni and cheese may not be the best, but I get a little protein to hold me over until the morning.

I bring up a banana and some crackers at bedtime. Later if I'm not too lazy to go back downstairs, I'll also eat some cereal
  • I've never had that kind, but i will try it! I normally don't like raisins either, but i'll take your word:)

  • I totally go back to sleep without brushing my teeth. Do you guys brush your teeth after MOTN snacking? I feel guilty about it, but not guilty enough to brush again :)

Also, you ladies who try not to wake up much, are you guys doing diaper changes and everything with your eyes closed?! How??
