Re: August 4 Pregnancy Check-In

  • I'm feeling great!! Still hungrier than ever though. I have my second appointment this Thursday, I'll be 12w6d. I can't wait to see how they're doing. I have no idea what to expect at this appointment, you'd think I'd know being a STM, but it feels like the first time all over again!

Nursery ideas: None...we're renting a townhome so we won't be doing any painting. We're not too good on money right now, so a lot of thrifting and secondhand items other than the cribs and carseat. All I know is, I want owls everywhere, I love owls!

    Happy August, mamas!

All is well, I think, here.  Lots of swelling and contractions.  We go back next week for checkup so hopefully, cervix is still cooperating.  So far, so good.  Baby A is head down and Baby B is butt down (butt in Baby A's face- nice).

We have a nursery right off our bedroom; it's a little room but perfect for changing table, small shelves for play and a little rug.  We are coming along.  Currently, it's filled with cloth diapers and we are finding a system to organize those and get them off the changing table.  They'll cosleep in our room and share our closet.  We are NOT clotheshorses and bought a house with a huge walk-in closet that's half empty lol.  SO, the babies have a big section of that for their clothes, blankets, carriers, etc.

  • Things are going well here. The m/s seems to be easing a bit and more manageable again. I do find i am setting tired and sore by the end of the day at work. I have a 3 yo Ds i am home with during the day then stand as a cashier for 6 hours at night. Hopefully my body gets use to it. I am only 10 weeks right now so I have a long way to go.

The nursery I plan to do in a nautical theme. Ds will be switching rooms so we need to decorate his new room first. I think we will do tan and dark blue with construction themed decals.

  • Well we have our 12 week ob visit on Wed. Still bleeding from the subchorionic hemorrhage and fatigue sucks but hoping to get the 2nd tri energy burst soon.

QOTW: well since Sarah is carrying, I get to do the nursery (she's not crafty or stylish at all) and it will be a secret for her until Christmas Day! :) She is excited for this.

I have always called her my Pooh Bear, so while I'm not in love with typical pooh stuff, I plan to do pooh printed quotes in frames for walls that color cord. With bedding. Bedding will be chevron and dot patterns and colors will be determined once we know b/g. Right now I like g/g coral & aqua b/g coral, gray and teal or b/b teal, light green and gray.

Cribs are pip below and other pips are my inspiration pics.

Here it is.... How are you feeling this week? Any new news or Dr. Appointment updates to share?

Feeling pretty good (30w3d) My BH ctx are getting painful, they happen so high up it takes my breath away for a couple of minutes. Next growth scan isn't until the 11th, which seems forever away. Oh, and my hips feel like they are cracking in half when I move.

QOTW: Describe your nursery. What are your must haves, favorite parts? Of you're not that far in the process yet, what are some nursery ideas you're playing around with? Feel free to post some inspiration pictures!

I made my own bedding and the like because I am particular about what I want, but they are all done and set-up already! It took my mom and I 20 hours (together) to make it all, but it was well worth it! I don't have a theme, per se, but my colors are navy, teal blue, lime green and the furniture is all a dark wood. If I can remember, I will take a pic and share next time.

  • I am feeling large being at 35 weeks. A lot more cramping has been happening this week so far. I started my weekly NST last week and will have another one tomorrow. At my NST last week mild contractions showed. I ended up getting a biophysical profile and both babies were looking good.

Still no swelling for me. Both babies are currently head down and I am still hoping for a natural birth!
  • How are you feeling this week? Any new news or Dr. Appointment updates to share?
I am feeling OK so far this week. I met my new on today and he did a quick u/s and both looked good. A was head down B was breech. I will go in for my glucose test this week. He said he would have me deliver between 37&38 weeks, but no later than October 27.

We haven't done much yet since we just moved. Right now the nursery is filled with all the boxes we need to go through still. We are thinking of doing a dinosaur theme. We have a dresser with dinosaurs from when dh was a kid. We also have a dinosaur light. Dh mom is good with sewing and will probably make some dinosaur curtains. We have a glider from DD, but I don't know if it will work for tandem nursing.

  • We just saw the doctor today. I passed my GTT, yay! The babies are measuring about 2.5lbs each and doing well. So far my cervix is staying strong so I am hopeful we will get close to 34 weeks. I was told to rest as much as possible, which is difficult to do with a toddler.

This is our nursery. We set it up with DS1 with the plan that it would be our permanent nursery. This room will become the boys room eventually.  We have never actually used it as a nursery though. DS1 slept in our room and still sleeps there.

  • Here it is.... How are you feeling this week? Any new news or Dr. Appointment updates to share: I'm 36 weeks today. Feeling pretty OK, but very large. The bump is out of control and strangers have no problem telling me - it hasn't been bad but I'm starting to feel pretty self-conscious when out and about. I've gained just under 40 lbs so far. Sleep continues to be hard between SPD and hip pain but most nights I manage. I'm just really happy they are still cooking and we are almost to term, especially with all our drama with bleeding and placenta previa in second tri. Saw OB and did NSTs today - both girls continue to do well on those. He also did a quick US and A is still vertex and B is transverse/breach. He was very willing to try a vaginal birth with a breach extraction if necessary but for DH and I the benefits and risks of a c/s are much more to our liking. So we are working on getting a c/s scheduled for next Thursday or Friday!! My parents get into town tomorrow which will be good peace of mind, in case babies come early - extra support and they can take care of our dog while we are in the hospital. I can't believe I'm having these babies next week!

QOTW: We don't have a theme, DH is an illustrator and did some original art for the room which we had framed and kind of went with those colors which are muted primary colors. I really like it. I am also proud that we got two cribs and a glider to fit! It's pretty ready but I'm still struggling with how to organize my newborn clothes. Our big accomplishment last weekend was cleaning out our small attic and purging a lot of stuff - always feels good!

  • How are you feeling this week? Any new news or Dr. Appointment updates to share? Feeling tired and irritable this week. Starting to get a big bump, and have to go to the next size maternity pants. Have an OB appt on Thursday, just a quick check.

QOTW: Describe your nursery. What are your must haves, favorite parts? Of you're not that far in the process yet, what are some nursery ideas you're playing around with? Feel free to post some inspiration pictures! We have done nothing to the nursery except clean it out. I am on vacation in a couple of weeks and plan on painting then. Going to do gray, yellow, and turquoise.

How I'm feeling- I'm at 29w 4d so mostly big and tired. Got taken down to half my normal hours at work so at least I get a longer rest in between shifts. Have a growth scan with the MFM tomorrow so hoping to see some good growth since last visit.

QOTW- Nursery decorating is done but only because we moved our older DS out of it and into a new room and we aren't changing the decor of his old room. A friend painted the walls based on a counted cross stitch piece I did called Noah's Sub. She did an awesome job and we're thrilled to be able to use the room again for round 2 without covering her work. We'll be ready to go when the new crib we ordered gets here. Here are some pics I'm hoping aren't huge, mobile tonight and I don't always have great luck with pics here.

  • At 33 weeks, I'm feeling okay, just very achy.  Last Thursday, I had heavy swelling and my blood pressure was a bit elevated.  However, today all of my labwork came back clear and my blood pressure is back to normal, so it seems to have just been an aberration.  My OB surprised me by asking whether I prefer a vag birth or CS.  All along she's been preparing me for a CS, so the fact that she thinks I may actually have a choice is a good sign.  Starting next week, my appointments will be weekly, so we're definitely getting close.

We're keeping it simple for the nursery.  We painted the entire interior of our house, 3 years ago, so we're not keen on painting again.  We just so happened to paint all of the bedrooms blue, so I guess it works.   I'm coordinating the blue with yellow and gray, using different patterns like chevrons and stripes.  We've purchased all of the furniture in espresso and other darker colored woods.  I'm waiting to see what we get from the shower to actually purchase the linens.

  • How I'm feeling - Other than being tired, I'm feeling pretty good these days.  I passed my glucose test last week so I'm excited about that.

QOTW - We have a lot of work to do on the nursery still!  We did paint the room a soft green color, but that's about it.  I think I'm doing an animal theme, but I'm not super picky on things.
  • I am feeling tired.... :-) I spend a lot of my days off sleeping!  And I have mild cramps a lot the last several days... But I think I don't drink enough water at home, because we are on a well and it tastes funny- so I should do better at work.  ALso I started wearing my carpal tunnel braces again :-)  But really feeling good otherwise, as long as I get enough water and protein!

Next Doctor appointment is August 14th (just next week already!)  I am looking forawrd to him finding the babies on doppler.... and getting my scan scheduled, they will send me to MFM and hubby says it will be 4D.

Haven't started thinking about the nursery too much yet, but I think we are planning one crib to start.  And while I am big on soothing colors in the bedroom, I know babies like brights and contrast, so that may come up for painting scheme.  I love the animals... so if I can find someone to do a mural, we may go that route.  Did I say it was early yet?  I am going to keep lurking for ideas, and maybe spend some Pintrest time....

  • Thanks for organizing and do this @AandStilltrying.

How are you feeling this week? Any new news or Dr. Appointment updates to share? I had a rough weekend & start to this week. Feeling very tired, emotional & some gagging and throwing up mixed in (feels like it is the first tri-again. . .hoping this is just a phase).

QOTW:  Our nursery is just storing all the babies stuff right now and is a complete mess. We need to organize it and get it ready. No theme, but we have white walls and white cribs, and dresser so I'm trying to find items like lamp shades and curtains to add a pop of color. I'm also thinking of doing some sort of wall decal. . .just don't know what yet.

  • I am doing well although I have had major morning sickness come back last week.  Zofran helps but also has it's own side effects so I am not feeling too great.  I have short burst of energy then sort of crash. I have both my ob and mfm appointment in two weeks!

We are doing sort of a modern superhero theme.  Nothing crazy.  I found some really cute prints online etc...  Haven't bought anything other than paint which was on sale.  I need to hire a painter after we finish cleaning out the room.  I will have a couple of big showers so hopefully don't have to purchase too much.  I found some cribs I love but they are a bit expensive so I am looking to see if I can find something similiar for cheaper. I won't order cribs until 24 weeks or so.

  • I am 20 weeks and over all feeling pretty good. I get really tired round about DS nap time, which is usually when I would get things done about the house..... but it is so hard to convince my sleepy self not to nap too. Also by the end of the day every day by belly has swelled and gets VERY uncomfotable. It is like whatever I eat and drink throughout the day just sits in there and I just run out of space! Ha! We have our a/s scheduled for Friday and I am totally excited!! Our nursery is yellow, classic Pooh themed. We are keeping it the same from when DS was little. We recently designed him a new big boy room and changed him over instead of making a whole new nursery.

  • Tired and sore this week. NST/AFI testing begins this week, had my first appointment today. Not too shabby, took us 1.5 hours and the girls refused to be still . Kind of how they always are LOL

Our nursery is almost done. My wife has painted it, put together crib and other stuff,  and hung everything. I just go in there and organize it and supervise LOL. I really like it. Must haves are books and stuffed animals.

  • Here it is.... How are you feeling this week? Any new news or Dr. Appointment updates to share?
Really starting to lose all my energy, just seems like I can't accomplish too much without having to sit and take a break. I sleep horrible, constantly tossing and turning. Glucose test tomorrow, hoping I pass.

QOTW: Describe your nursery. What are your must haves, favorite parts? Of you're not that far in the process yet, what are some nursery ideas you're playing around with? Feel free to post some inspiration pictures!
I'm slacking on the nursery, everything is just kinda stacked up waiting for me to organize it!
  • Sorry I'm late... I guess I'm feeling pretty well overall, until I go to work!  Then by the end of the day I'm exhausted and my back is killing me.  I'm probably only working until the end of August though so trying to tough it out.  I'm also not sleeping very well so that probably doesn't help.

We're moving into a new apartment next week so I'm waiting to decide what kind of bedding I want to do, but there probably won't be too much "decorating" of the nursery yet since we're planning on keeping the second bedroom a guest room for the first 3 months or so while we have visitors and the babies will be in our room anyway.  I'm very much looking forward to moving in and getting things organized though!  People keep asking me if I feel ready and I'm like ummm.... no
  • Went to the Dr yesterday for my 28week check up and everyone is looking great. A is measuring 2.10 and is breach, B is 2.9 and head down, C is 2.10 and head down. Though everyone is looking great I am super uncomfortable. I'm just ready for these babies to be here. Longest Dr will let us go is 36 weeks, so 8 more weeks max. Dr said to take it easy, rest as much as possible, and drink lots of water.

As for the nursery we are doing 2 because none of our bedrooms will hold 3 cribs. The boys room is sports themed and the girls is very purple princess girly.
  • Check up this week continues to show 4 healthy heartbeats and a long cervix.  No spotting this week, which has me much more calm!  I'm 15 weeks today- up 20 pounds- and measuring 27 weeks!!!  Let me just say, I don't know anything about a single pregnancy- but going from 0-27 weeks in 15 weeks is quite the stretch on my body!!!

We haven't started on the nursery. We should have the anatomy scan in 4 weeks and will then decide for certain. I want to do as neutral as possible but not 100% positive yet.

  • Hi ladies! So nice to see everyone's updates! I am feeling large and started feeling uncomfortable. Feeling the babies move so much! Had an OB appt today and all is well. Will have to do my GD test in the next two weeks. Fun times! No nursery thoughts yet. We will be moving before they get here so haven't figured it out yet.
