MIL soaked a diaper in bleach water because "that's what I saw you do." It was only in the bleach water for a few hours. I rinsed the heck out of it and rinsed, washed, rinsed with my other diapers (which got washed twice.) It was a BumGenius Freetime AIO. Its not the end of the world right? It will be okay?

I think she felt bad when I explained that I soaked her overnight diapers in the bucket. I have no idea why she thought I put bleach in it. She literally had to go downstairs to our laundry room and get the bleach. The thing that gets me is that MIL has been good about the cloth diapers, she helps with the laundry, hanging and putting away of diapers. I have no idea why she would think this.

It's fine. A long as the bleach is rinsed out and you can't smell it anymore. BG actually recommends bleaching monthly.
Hey, she tried. My mil has never changed either of my daughters diapers. Much less even though about washing them.

Sounds like a simple mistake. As long as she didn't use a ton of bleach, it will be fine.

I have no idea how much bleach she used. I could smell it the instant I dumped the water. It was strong. Thanks for reassuring me.

Honestly? I can see my mother doing something like that because it may very well have been what she did when my brother and I were in diapers back in the 70's.

Diapers and detergents have both come a long way since then.
