Some history ... Jane Evangeline is a combo of my mom's, great-aunt's, aunt's and grandmother's names (Jane, Janey, Evelyn, Josephine)

Rebecca is from my former middle and Hope bc it's just a lovely, simple classic

My son, Charlie, has a family name handed down ... he is named after his father, but his dad goes by his middle, while Charlie goes by nn from his first. So the name would need to work with Charlie, too.

I vote for Jane Evangeline but we have an Evangeline (Evie) so I'm definitely partial.  I almost think it would sound better the other way around though.

I love the nicknames Evie and Hope. BUT, as a person whose name is a nickname from birth - combined from first and middle name (my grandmothers') - I can tell you it is a pain in the a$$. I am going to change mine legally to my nickname in a few months. I appreciate my parent's sentiment, however, I am tired of having to explain my name to people and school (specifically teachers) was a nightmare. I finally just started saying yes if they asked if it was a either a typo or pronounced different.
