Belly Band users

What brand do you use?

Maternity pants are too big, but my regular pants are getting tight so I bought the band from Motherhood. It was way too big. I had the bottom pulled down over my waistband, but the top part of the band was hanging off my body. I thought it would be pretty tight like Spanx. Do you think I got a bad one? Or maybe they're just not right for my body? Am I supposed to roll it down? Is another brand better?

Re: Belly Band users

  • I got one from Target and it's been twisted washed, dried and fits just fine. Wearing mine little low halfway up the belly.
  • Loading the player...
  • I got one from Ross that is pretty tight. I don't think belly bands are for me. I feel like I'm exposing myself to the word without my pants zipped up!

Haha oh gosh I bet I'll feel that way too!

@BabyStandish‌ - It's from Motherhood Maternity. They are supposed to be "one size fits all".

It could just be my weird body. My hips are much wider than the rest of me so something that fits my hips is too big everywhere else. That's the problem I'm having with maternity pants too - they're way too baggy in the ass and thigh.

  • Thanks for the recommendations everyone!
Target, Ross, Marshalls, and TJ Maxx are all in the same shopping center so I'll try those stores first. I hope they'll let me try them on first.

  • I have the bella band from Ingrid and Isabel as well. It's a snug fit.
  • Women from my last BMB loved the hair band trick when they were in this in between stage. You just put one end around the button, loop through the hole, and then put other end on button too. Your shirt needs to be long enough for this to work.

Ooh yes I'm going to try this too. It might get me through a few more weeks of my regular pants.

    Thanks!

  • I have the one from Motherhood. Granted mine is 7 years old, but it still fits and works well. It was starting to pill. After taking a sweater razor to it, it's as soft as it was to start.

  • I have the BeBand from Target.  It made it through my first 2 pregnancies and one of my friends', and it's still good.  They come in S, M, L, XL I think.  I fold mine in half but if I leave it up the whole way it is still tight against my stomach (good for smoothing out lumpy looking belly!)

  • I got a Baby Be Mine brand on Amazon and I like it a lot better than the one I got at Target. It's sized and fits well and seems like it will hold up better.

Sometimes I'll do the rubber band trick on my jeans and then put the band on top. That way I feel less like my pants are going to fall down, but not exposed if my shirt rides up.

  • I have the one from Ingrid and Isabel. Mine also gaps at the top, so I fold it half way down. They make them to accommodate a larger belly, so I think it'll fit when the belly is larger. I think I remember seeing on their website that you should fold it down until you're big enough to fill it out- down for first/second Tri and regular for second/third Tri.

  • I have the beband from target and I really like it. It comes in black, white, and tan. It's been working so far for me and does a pretty good job of hiding that I don't have my pants buttoned.

  • I have the BeBand from Target, and it works perfectly for me at 18w4d. I wear over-the-belly maternity jeans, but by the end of the day, they want to slide down on their own. So, I wear the BeBand over the maternity pants and that keeps my jeans from sliding down.

  • @calindi - I've been trying the smallest size in all of the pants I've tried :( I read the reviews for full panel pants at Old Navy and a lot of people complained that they were too small in the leg. That might actually work well for me, so if I can't find a band that I like I think I'll try those.

  • I have the Bella Band, in both black and white, and really like it. It gets on my nerves when I have to go to the bathroom just because I'm pulling it up and then trying to shimmy it back down over my button/zipper, but I'm still able to wear all my regular pants so that's worth it. I just fold mine in half at the moment.
  • I used the website Belly Button Bands. I found a promo code for 2 free and all you pay is shipping and it was like 12 bucks for me. The link for the promo code is below and they link you to the website to order. Good quality and they work well. They have different colors to choose from and you can mix the color for the two free. Just wanted to let everyone know since maternity stuff is so expensive.

  • I got a couple Belly Button Bands as well with that promo code. They work great for the pants that aren't already too tight around my hips.

  • Thank you for the code!

Just ordered a white and light gray from the Belly Button Band website.

I have the black BeBand from Target and I love it.  It was $17, I believe.  I couldn't resist $14 for two others.
