Baby Names

three syllable girls names

I've realized that I really love three syllable names, so I'm looking for suggestions for names that are not too popular or modern. (can't stop thinking about names for my next child, who I have yet to conceive lol)

  • FWIW, I have a three syllable name, and nicknames are the bane of my existence. I live in a region of the country where people seem to think it's okay to default to a one syllable nickname that I loathe.

Three syllables seems to be too many for folks to handle. I will never give my child a name that's readily shortened into something awful.

my name is Stephanie and I go by that and Steph pretty interchangeably. I like nick names in general so I would try to pick a name with a cute nn.

Yes, but if there's a nn that you don't like but others consider common, it may be inflicted upon the child! Don't name a kid Richard, for instance, if you loathe Dick. (And who doesn't?)
