@blue_elle

Did you have to ask for a referral for the PT? LO has mild torticollis and we have been instructed to do therapy stretches at home by ourselves. I do the stretches, but he kicks, fights and rolls the entire time. He screams when I stretch his neck like it is hurting him. I just don't know if he should be seeing an actual therapist or if what we are doing is helping.

Re: @blue_elle

  • Our insurance did not require referral for specialists, so I self-referred for an evaluation. After the initial eval. the PT sent paperwork to our doc for a prescription for continued PT, which they did no problem.

    M does good with the general stretches now, but still gets upset when she works certain parts of his neck where he has some tightness. Nothing she's given us to do ourselves seems to cause pain.

  • I would ask to at least get an evaluation if possible. A PT can better assess where he's at. Or PT sees and feels little things that aren't as apparent to us.
