Trouble TTC

Question for those using Puregon or really any FSH injection! :)

My prescription has been sent in to the pharmacy. The script is for Puregon 300IU, and there's 9 ordered. I think it's probably 3 cartridges per IUI, since they also sent a prescription for 3 syringes of Ovidrel (I guess so they don't have to send it to the pharmacy again if I have to do more then 1 on the new treatment plan)

Do they decide based on my blood work / scan what the dosage will start at? I don't know if I should buy all 3. My nurse called the other day but since I was caught off guard and didn't expect the call I forgot to ask and the dosages were left blank in all the paperwork she emailed me.

  • My nurse always ordered a few more than I needed per cycle with the Gonal but not the novarel. I used freedom pharmacy and got 1 day shipping so I just order 1-2 pens at a time, just to get me through my next monitoring appt. I'm OOP so that way I only spent exactly what I needed. I would check with the pharmacy and see what their shipping policy is to make sure you can get 1 day shipping and when they give you your protocol you will have a better idea on what to order. Good luck!
    Fucking bump!!!!
  • Thanks ladies. I think they send the prescription in for 3 cycles worth since that's what they did with my other cycles with Femara, Ovidrel and Prometrium. I just picked up one cycle at a time.

Luckily the pharmacy is only about 15-20 minutes away. I just realized looking through my papers that I won't start the injects until CD 5 (Femara starting on CD 2). I'll still be able to pick up any extra Puregon after my CD 2 appointment, and will have one at home beforehand (just in case the day I'd have to pick it up is a Sunday when they are closed!!)
