TTC after 35

Hello friends....warning

OK, Iet's see if I can manage to follow these rules correctly!  I hope I'm in the right place.

First off, let me say how happy I am to find this group.  TTC in late 30's is a whole other ball game.

I'm almost 39 and have been TTC for 13 months.  I've had 5 confirmed losses over all my years (I do have living children as well).  3 in the last year.  All early losses.  I think my problem is just finding a good egg.  I have textbook 28 day cycles.  O regularly, etc.  Just can't get that sticky.  Starting femara for first tme ever.  I'm curious about possible benefits, seeing as how I already O.  I'm on day 4 of my dose.  So that would put me at waiting to O.

Again, so happy to have found you all!

  • Welcome to the group. Good luck with the femara, I have never taken it so I have no advice there. Hope it helps increase your chance of a sticky bean.

  • Thank you for the warm welcome ladies.  I'm so nervous about joining in.  I'm so scared I'm going to post in the wrong place, or fail to throw out the proper warning flag!  Let me tell about myself a tad more.  I look forward to getting to know you all.  I'm sorry to see that loss seems to be a part of so many of yall's history.

    DH and I have been TTC for a year now.  We have recently switched to NTNP.  I'm not happy about it, but I'm willing to simply b/c nothing else is working.  Besides, I pretty much always know when I O, so I can always sway DH into inadvertently trying.....he just doesn't have to know what's going on.

    I have 3 kiddos and would love to add one more.  We had a chemical in October '13, Feb '14, and May '14.  We know that I perpetually have low progesterone.  So I do take that after O.  I've had two other losses - one chemical back in 2004 and an ectopic at the beginnning of 2013.  I just wish I could have one more!  I don't see why or how this has to be so difficult!  Maybe the femara this round will do the trick.

    Again, I'm so happy to have found this group.  I've tried another site, and the twenty somethings made me feel ancient and the drive-by BFPs drove me nutty.  I will try my best to always be sensitive of others'.  This journey can be such a painful experience.  Even without loss, it's so emotionally charged and difficult to navigate at times.  I hope I can be a source of support to you all!
  • Welcome! Love your screen name! So sorry for your losses. I'm doing my first cycle with Femara this month too. Good luck!!!

  • It's pretty hard to screw up with group. We are all mature, grown woman so not much ruffles our feathers. You don't need warnings unless you are posting a BFP or a loss. That's about all we care about. The other boards are mixed with older and younger woman so you do have to deal with some immaturity if you post on them, that's why I stay here. It's a safe place to vent and get support when needed. I'm sure you will fit in nicely with us.

  • Thanks again everyone.  I've finished my femara pills (days 5-9) and am on CD11.  I've been spotting ever since AF ended!  WTH?  Oh well, I think it's pretty common...I am not being monitored very closely by my RE while on this.  I've actually wondered if this is cause for concern, as it sounds like most women at least have U/S's to see what's developing.  But I'm not overly concerned....yet.

    @URMySunshine77 My kiddos are 11, 9, and 4.
