So, my 3 year old has had terrible behavior lately. Screaming, spitting, hitting, just nasty. We were on our way to brunch at our friends' place and he started acting out when I told him the behavior I expected (no screaming, hitting, or spitting and that he needed to sit and eat when the food was served). He tends to act up a lot around these friends. When he started in the car, I told him if he didn't cut it out I would turnaround and he'd stay home. He continued on, laughing so I turned the car around, got him out and put him in his room, sending hubby and LO off to lunch. Is there any other way to deal? I'm at a loss lately with discipline because nothing seems to work...
Re: Gut check...is there a better way to handle this?
I try to redirect, but I also lay out the expectations... And always follow trough and be consistent. Usually counting to 3 works. Sometimes the punishment if I get to 3 is a timeout or taking away a toy, etc. I usually don't get past 2
