Postpartum Check Up

Hey ladies - for those if you that have already had one, can you tell me what happened during your PP check up? Mine is tomorrow. I'm just 4 weeks out and still in a bit of pain especially since I had a 3rd degree tear. Did you have a speculum exam? The thought of it makes me want to cry!

I haven't had one this time, but my tears with the first two were minor. They did a quick look then we discussed birth control. No speculum

I had mine this week and I had a third degree tear too but am healing well. I did have a speculum exam and it wasn't bad. I got cleared to exercise but not sex.

Mine is coming up this Friday. My OB does an interval/Pap exam and it hurts like a mofo. Dreading it! I will bring LO with me and leave my older two with a sitter.

I haven't had my appointment yet, but yes. DS will be in daycare.

At 3 weeks? That's nice. Mine won't see me till 6 weeks. I'm jealous.

I had MWs so they checked me and LO at 2 weeks, will again at 6.

No tearing for me, was cleared to exercise and told sex/swimming fine once the bleeding stops. No internals or being touched in any way and they checked LO over.

Last time, I had stitches so had them checked out but very gently and nothing internal. 

The very idea of a speculum PP makes me wince!

Okay - so I went and it was no big deal. I don't know why they scheduled the appt for 4 weeks, it should have been 6. They didn't do anything internal. I'm healing well, there's just one area that is taking longer. She put me on antibiotics to combat any possible bacteria growth. I have to go back in 2 weeks for a final check. Thanks guys!

BP check, asked me if I was having any issues, did a Pap/pelvic, and discussed BC.


Edit:  This is the first time this doctor has done a Pap on me and it was not uncomfortable at all.  Not sure if that's because I've stretched myself out from having a kid or he's just an awesome doc.

I go tomorrow which will be 4 weeks...I had a 2nd degree tear so I'm not looking forward to it
