Trouble TTC

Into (BFP/Loss mentioned)

Hi everyone!  I'd like to introduce myself and join the board.

I'm 30 (almost 31).  DH and I have been married for 3 years and TTC for 2 years.  After trying for 7 months we got our first BFP, we were so excited!  We went to my dr and after a few draws found out that my labs just weren't doubling and eventually started falling.  We were heart broken but bound not to let this ruin our hopes, so we continued TTC.  9 months later we had our 2nd BFP.... again, we got excited and called the doctor.... this time we had the opposite problem.... my hCG was sky high.... we ended up with a molar and had to have a D&C in Decemeber.

Forward to the present time, we got our 3rd BFP on Monday (4w1d), had hCG drawn this past Tuesday (4w2d) and my levels were only 19... I know it's in the "normal" range... but it is extremely low and I am pretty upset.  I will go back this coming Tuesday and have them drawn again and see how high it is.

In the past, after the first loss we were devastated but knew that sometimes it happens.  After the molar pregnancy I was crushed.  I wanted to consult a reproductive specialist but my gyn convinced me that he really  doesn't think that I should see one unless I have a 3rd mishap.  Looking back, I feel like I should have sought a second opinion from a reproductive specialist.  I've asked in the past to have my blood work drawn to see if I have any underlying medical issues that might be affecting my pregnancies (clotting disorder, thyroid dysfunction, etc).  But my gyn told me that I was "jumping the gun"

Again, I'm trying so hard not to get my hopes up about things this time around, but I know for a fact that if we have another loss, I WILL find a reproductive specialist.

Sorry for the long intro!  Looking forward to getting to know you ladies.

I'm sorry for your losses and the difficult time you've had, but right now, you're pregnant. This isn't the appropriate place for you to intro at this point.

ETA: The Pregnant After a Loss board might be the best place for you right now. All of the ladies there, as the board name suggests, are pregnant after loss(es), so they understand how scary it can be.

  • I'm sorry.  I had read other posters who are currently pregnant and have had other loses as well and people seemed to be receptive of them.

I must be wrong.  I'll look for support elsewhere.

Already pregnant? No. None of us here are pregnant. This is a board for women who are currently having trouble TTC.

Sometimes people who have been members of this community will post about their BFPs, and may even update about their betas, so maybe you saw a post like that, but to intro here while you're pregnant is not appropriate.

  • Whatever, got.it.  No need to be rude.  It was clearly an honest mistake.  Any idea how to delete a post?  I'll gladly take this off of your board.

Rude? Seriously? I think I was pretty polite to you, actually. I directed you to the board that will give you the most support at this point rather than just telling you to eff off.

There isn't a delete option, so it can't be deleted from the board.... unless maybe @NariaDreaming or @Rumbera28 can use their magical mod powers.

  • No worries. If I took what you said the wrong way, then I apologize, it just seemed to me that it was a stern response.  Butt again, I apologize if that is not how it was meant.

If the mods would like to delete the message, that's fine.

Is this a board I can be on when not pregnant or since I've had losses in the past should I go to TTC after a loss?  (that wasn't meant rude or sarcastic, it was an honest question).

I did whole blog thing on theknot when getting married but have never used the bump community until a few days ago.
  • This board is for non-pregnant women who have been TTC for a year or more (or 6+ months if over 35yo). If you find yourself in that situation, this is definitely the board for you.

TTC after a loss is a board for women who are TTC after suffering a loss.

  • Many women on this board have experienced loss(es), and are welcome. I believe many of those who have experienced losses join TTCAL, as their home board or a second board.

I hope your betas double! You've certainly been through enough pain already. :( But since it is painful for women on this board to hear about the BFPs of women they've never "met" before, if you choose, you could edit the title of this discussion.

This is a good idea. When I read the BFP/Loss warning, I assumed you were just going to mention previous bfps and losses. You may want to change it to say something like, "current pregnancy mentioned."
