I'm looking into cloth for daytime use and I'm pretty much sold on the AI2 system. I realize this may be an ignorant question but do the inserts fit any shell? Can I put best bottoms inserts into a grovia or soft bums shell?

I'm not familiar with best bottoms or soft bums, but Grovia's are pretty narrow in the crotch, so as long as the best bottom inserts aren't too wide you should be fine. Hopefully somebody on here with experience will chime in

Grovia snaps are different than the "standard" snaps that BB and SB use. So while you could use a BB insert in a Grovia, it won't snap in. You can however use pretty much any non-microfiber insert, flat, or prefold and just lay it in any hybrid shell or any cover for that matter and make your own AI2. As long as it fits that is.
