Best Nursery Recliner that can be reused

I plan on exclusively breastfeeding and personally, do not like the way gliders look. I'm looking to get a solid chair for the nursery that allows me to breastfeed comfortably (maybe close my eyes here and there), maybe eventually read to my little one in and then can be repurposed into another room. I can find very old posts where people talk about getting a La-Z boy, but I don't know which one they're talking about and what material would hold up with the potential mess. Looking for advice here on purchases you all have made that made your experience amazing! I should mention I am short...5'1" but my husband is a foot taller than me and I'd like something that we'd both be comfortable in if possible.

Thanks all!

Re: Best Nursery Recliner that can be reused

  • We have this Best glider/recliner in a beige textured microfiber. LOVE it. My husband and I are both tall, so I'm not sure how it would work for someone who is shorter, but they have several other styles of recliners that I've heard are just as amazing. We plan on putting it in the family room once we're done using it in the nursery.

  • I am about 5'4, and we hands down love our Best chair as well.

  • I'm 5'1" and we nursed using the Ikea Poang chair. I think it's something of a bestseller, so I guess a lot of people of different heights find it comfortable. And plenty of people have them in non-nursery settings.
  • I have never heard of the Best Chair, they look fantastic! Around what do they cost to have a good one with fabric that easily cleans? Do the BBB stores have them for you to check out in the store?

  • We have a Best Chairs BodyRest recliner (not a nursery recliner) that reclines flat. We bought it before we were married, and moved it into the nursery when I was pregnant with DS. In the early days I found it difficult to nurse in (I needed to be more upright), but otherwise it's been awesome to have in DS's room. We have logged a lot of hours in it nursing, reading stories, and snuggling. We occasionally nap together in it now (something which is not safe with an infant - please be aware that co-sleeping in a recliner or chair is very dangerous). It's a big chair, but so comfortable.

  • For my first, I got a high back leather rocker/recliner from la-z-boy. It's awesome. I love it. I still nurse her in it and will use it for my second as well. Eventually it will move into our room. It's still in amazing condition and should be for a long time. I highly recommend investing in a nicer piece of furniture instead of the crappy (yet expensive) gliders.
