Ok, so lately I have been so disconnected with everything , I don't want to leave home or go anywhere or do anything...friends call for me to visit and I just don't feel up to it, not nessisarily because I feel nauseous or sick, but because I just don't want to...idk why I feel like this or what is going on, has anyone else experienced this? Is it normal? How do I change this?

Re: Depression?

  • Could be from hormone fluctuations but you should talk to your doctor about it. Depression is one of the things that you should always inform your doctor of.

  • I struggle with the same thing. I didn't really get pregnancy fatigue in the early weeks, instead I lost all motivation to do anything. Suddenly I didn't want to do any of my normal activities, and I had to bribe myself to go to work. I didn't hang out with friends at all. It was like being depressed, except I've been clinically depressed before and so I know it was not the same. I was not unhappy, just completely unmotivated to do anything. I decided that it was just the form the pregnancy fatigue was taking for me. It eventually got better, especially in the past two weeks.

You should talk to your doctor, of course, but it could also be just the way your body is handling the increased hormones.

  • My depression got really bad around week 7. I had all the symptoms you have and I could t stand my DD or DH. I had my meds adjusted and now that I'm almost 12 weeks I'm feeling a bit more normal bsd am not dreading getting up in the morning. Lots bsd lots of women suffer from anxiety and depression, talk to your doc, you'll be so happy you did! Good luck Mama!
