Help - pumping dregs during fever

I am in the midst of catching HFM from DD.  My first two pumps were fine but I can only assume I have a high fever as I am shivering in my office.  I pumped for 25 mins and got no letdown.  I am taking fever reducers and keeping hydrated.  I think the problem is obviously no let down, but I don't know how to fix that.  Help?  I'm definitely flipping out.

Sorry to hear that - I didn't chime in on the other thread but I caught HFM from DS and it was horrible.  Awful.  I will spare you the details.

The good news is that the fever portion is brief.  Mine broke within 24 hours but it got high, like 103+, so if you are at that point it's no surprise you aren't getting anything when you pump.  Keep drinking lots of water.  You can try massage and heat while pumping and maybe get something out, but I wouldn't expect to get a normal volume.  Hang in there.

Thanks ladies. This blows. I had a fever a few weeks ago with a URI but I was on ML and nursing exclusively so I had no flipping idea what my output was. Now that I'm pumping I'm like, Oh. .25 oz in 25 minutes. That's flipping fantastic. I hope I can get a letdown when she actually nurses???

When I get sick, I get zero milk and have to rely on the freezer stash. Also happens to me when I get upset, so I try to stay chill at work . My experience is that there's nothing I can do about it, but my supply always came back once I got better.

Yeah, I had bad supply during sickness as well. I added a pump hour after DD was alseep while relaxing and watching TV. Ride it out. Heads up- DS1 also would not nurse when I had a fever so I had to pump. DD had no such issues.
