I am loving the American Heart Association's new brand platform: LIFE IS WHY
At the AHA we want people to experience more of life's precious moments but in order to do that "we must be healthy in heart and mind for the heart is where life's moments are felt and the mind is where these moments become memories and relived again...and again."

Hearing her say bubble is why.

 

The other night, during dinner, our daughter kept pointing at something but we couldn’t pin point exactly what as there were several things in that general direction.  After a few minutes she pointed again but this time said “bub bubb” or something like that J  I then realized that she was pointing at the bubbles on the table and was trying to say Bubble.  My Husband and I were both amazed because while we had said/blown bubbles around her before she never once tried to repeat it, nor did she really seem interested in them.  So, with a smile on my face, I ran over to get the bubbles and like any proud parent would do, my Husband started recording her with his phone.  The smile on her face was huge as a blew bubbles her way and she started laughing and saying bubble over and over again, each time a little bit clearer.

 

I’m thankful that my husband got it all on video because it’s a wonderful memory, for me it’s one of the moments in life I wish I could freeze in time.  Hearing her say bubble is why because I hope to be able to experience many, many more first with her, well into her adult life; there will always be a bubble moment.

Ok I'll give it a whirl.

Her love is why.

I've been in survival mode for many months now. I'm exhausted mentally and physically, the house is a mess, my personal hygiene is minimal and my patience is very thin. I lose my temper, my ability to play is limited some days and pajamas are my daily uniform.

Yet through it all, my sweet girl LOVES me. No matter what I do or don't do she longs to be near me, she loves to hug me and has a smile for me every morning. Her love is truly unconditional. She doesn't care that my hair is a mess and that I haven't done the dishes. She doesn't care that when she woke up for the 3rd time at night I was swearing under my breath. She adores me regardless of all my shortcomings.

Her smile is why, her forgiveness is why, her love is why. I want to return that love for as many years as I possibly can.
