Anyone else have baby NAME fever? I find myself constantly thinking of baby names. I think because I'm going through all this preliminary stuff before we start EA, I'm just in that mindset. I'm hoping we don't have another boy, because he will have no name. My husband and I only had one boy name we both agreed on when we had HC. We have a ton of girl names, but no boy names.
I like Henry, but my H doesn't. (Which makes no sense because it's the name of the main character in the book he's writing!) I don't want his name to be too similar to HC's, but I don't mind them having the same initials, as long as they still have some individuality about their names. I also like the name Miles (H doesn't). Those are the only two I have so far.
We have tons of girl names. H's faves are Hensley and Kate. He also likes Olivia and Madison. I like more quirky names like Emmaline, Isla, and Ruby Mae.
I'm open to opinions, and please share your names!

I also have baby names on the brain 24-7. But our dilemma is that we haven't found a single girl name that we agree on yet. Our second boy name has been picked out forever though.
We're really hoping for a girl so we're trying to use female pronouns and are thinking about girl names that start with L. DS shares my first initial so DH suggested his first initial for this LO. I think it means more to him than he's letting on.
I love thinking about baby names even though we aren't going to TTC#2 for another year. We were Team Green and had our boy name picked out right away. Luckily we did end up with a boy because we never did decide on a girl name. I am just so indecisive about girl names. But boy names will give us trouble next time too because there are just not that many I like.
Girl names that we keep tossing around: Brooke, Vanessa, Delilah, Sabrina, and Laine
Boy names: I love Oliver and I'm going to try to push for it if we find out a future pregnancy is a boy. (We are not going to be Team Green next time.) We both like Wesley. That's about it for boy names.
What about Hensley for a girl? It's H's pick, and I think it's pretty, but worry it sounds "made up." We found it in an actual baby name book, and it's a fairly common surname. We obviously like surnames as first names.

I have an impending need for a baby name and I'm so lost. Our strategy with DD was to go into the sex determination ultrasound with our chosen boy and girl name, that way once we knew we could start calling the LO by his/her name. That's our strategy again, but I feel like we're being lazy about getting the conversation started again. Our boy name hasn't changed, but girl name is tough. The ones that I like are starting to get popular again, which is something I'm trying to avoid.
The popularity thing bothers me as well. When I named my son Harrison, I didn't know ANY. There is now another Harrison in his class at daycare. It really bugs me. I just don't want him to be 1 of 4 other Harrisons in his class any given school year.

I picked out DD's name when I was in college (about 5 yrs ago) and at that time almost no one was using that name and now it's extremely popular, especially in my state. Whomp whomp. Oh well, sigh.
What about Hensley for a girl? It's H's pick, and I think it's pretty, but worry it sounds "made up." We found it in an actual baby name book, and it's a fairly common surname. We obviously like surnames as first names.
I actually REALLY like Hensley but it is extremely similar to my last name and would be ridiculous.
OP I think your H doesn't like Henry because it is the name of the character in the book he was writing. I like to play around with book ideas sometimes and usually I use names in them that have nothing to do with my friends or family to keep those worlds separate and both special on there own without putting the pressure on one to be like the other. You will come up with something when the time is right and even if you have to wait until you meet him or her it just means you are waiting to meet them and see what they are like to inspire you.
On that note. I am not pregnant but we would like to TTC around when DS turns 2. I let DH pick DS name and that's why he is a Jr. (sigh) so I have already picked one boys and one girls name. Alexander Jay or Alexandra Jane. (It goes with a theme on my side of the family)
I love baby names!!! I'm always on the BNB. @pnutg I LOVE your choices! Theodore is my top boy name but DH definitely gets the pick for the next boy. Both R's first and middle name are names from my side and he was completely fine with it. His top choice is Sullivan Robert (grandma's maiden name and his father's name) and I'm completely fine with that.
For girls we will still use our original girl name which is Johanna Kate (my grandma and his sister). But I have a pretty spiteful cousin who I know will use gma's name if she has a girl before me. Yes I know that you can't "claim" a name but my mom is also named after my grandma so this baby would be after both of them. So I feel it is more mine than hers. I'm not a brat so back up girls names we have on the short list are
Do you think 2 years from now the name Elsa will be okay to name a girl without thinking of Frozen? I really like the name Elsa May but now with Frozen... IDK...

Haha. Yea. That sucks. That's how I was with Bella. Then Twilight screwed me.
We aren't TTC yet but I have a running list. DH is Mike and wants a III since he's a junior. That's just too many Mikes in a family. We both like Gavin. For girls I have no idea. Maybe Audrey. Not sure I like that with our last name ending with an e sound. I'm very picky with names so it prob is best to start picking out choices now.
I always thought "Trip" was a cute nn for a III.

My husband doesn't like any of my names. His favorite name for a boy right now is Lincoln. He also likes Graham and Samuel. I can't not think of graham crackers, and he already has a cousin that used Samuel.
My favorite boy name right now is Elias. I was going to pair it with my grandfather's name Noble. He will just not get on board.
He's dead set on a girl named Kate now, too. Not Catherine/Katherine. Just Kate. He also thinks Brooklyn is a fabulous name.
I'm in baby name Hell.

Re: Baby Name Fever?
I am the opposite of you, though, and am constantly trying to find girl names to add to our list.
So far our boy names are Connor and Finley. Our girl name is Isla, I just don't LOVE it : /
@missk0411, River is one of my guilty pleasure names ever since meeting the cutest little girl named River June. My H won't go for it though.

A boy name is much harder, I don't know how we would decide!
Our girl name is Felicity. We both love it.
For boy names I love Theodore.
Popularity of a name was a big deal for us. We wanted a legit name where he wasn't going to be one of 5 in his class. So Augustus was perfect.

Edit-Gregory was dh's dad's name and he passed away. We were team green with lo so that was our boy name.
My favourite girls names are Rosie, Estelle(a) and Helena (nn Leni)
Boy names I like: Everett, Xavier, Ethan and Maxwell.
H's last name sucks....it's a common word, so we have to be so careful we aren't making an accidental sentence with our baby names.
