I have found that grocery shopping at aldi has helped stretch my food budget.
One other tip though: My husband and I both have an app called Goodbudget on our phones. We make a budget each month, set it all up online and it syncs to our phones. Every time that we spend, we simply enter it into the app. It has given me such a sense of peace knowing that we won't overspend.
@mamrotu73, I saw your post and have never heard of sales tax holidays! Got super excited, checked your link.... Apparently I've never heard of them because we don't have them where we live. Whomp whomp.

So while shopping I see a lot of people buying snack size things. I haven't done that in years. I own a home digital food scale. I measure out my own 100cal packs into little baggies. I'm calling it a weight loss and a budgeting win.

Lame. We get two here. One for back to school and one for hurricane season. They are limited on what it applies to, but it's still cool.
The one for hurricane season is the best time to stock up on batteries!
