Change in hours at night?

So our little man was sleeping 8-4 for about month at night. It was amazing! Now the past week and a half he's sleeping from 730-1am. I have no idea why the change but I'm hoping we go back. How's your little one sleeping? Anyone experience this?

  • Same here... Its been a tough week. Hope the longer stretches come back soon! Not sure what it is but maybe 2 month shots because it seems too long to be a growth spurt.

I posted in another thread about this. My DS regressed like this, too, after his 2 month shots (at 9 weeks old). He'll be 12 weeks tomorrow and finally got back to his old pattern a couple days ago. Maybe spurt, maybe leap, who knows.

  • Mine was STTN before her 2 month shots. Went to sleep from 10ish-7ish woke for a bottle and went back to sleep until 10 sometimes 11 but only if I put her in bed with me. Now she still goes down around 10 but is waking up at 4:00 for a dream feed and goes right back to bed. Then she still does her wake up between 7-8. Sometimes she goes back to bed again and sometimes no.
  • I would be careful associating sleep problems with 2 month shots when it likely has more to do with the baby just being two months old. My daughter's appt for her shots was delayed a week due to scheduling and her sleep problems started before the shots. ..after which she was totally fine. Have you changed anything else in your bedtime routine?

Associating shots with regression is what anti vaccine folks do with the 15month MMR vaccine and autism. Autism is likely to be diagnosed at the same age with or without the shots. It's an unfortunate coincidence.

  • My LO was 9wks 6days old when he got his 2 month shots. And just these past few days he is waking in the middle of the night, screaming his head off. Up until 4 days ago he was sleeping from 9:30-5:30 and back down again until 8ish. And he would just talk to himself to wake up. But now it's anytime in the night, and he's moving around in his crib and screaming his head off. I have no idea what it is.

Thank you for this post! We were going 10-11 to 6-7...now it's 10-11 to 5-6....he's only doing 6-7 h instead of 7-8...he's currently in a mental leap and is hitting 11 w today (but he was born at 41 and 1) so I'm thinking mental leak and growth spurt and praying it goes back to usual soon!

Mine has regressed lately too! She just turned 10 weeks but got her shots almost a month ago so I know it's not that. She was never sstn but last night she would only sleep for an hour or two at a time! We are visiting my parents this week and maybe they keep it too cold?

  • Yeah I don't know why people would associate sleep regression with shots.. I don't think it really has anything to do with that. I really do think he entered his leap early and that's what's been going on. But good news this morning. Apparently he knew I was writing this because he slept from 8-6 this morning! Longest he's ever slept without waking up! Mama is a happy camper considering we've all had the flu in this house it was much needed rest!
