Practicality of convertible crib sets

Hello, I am a FTM and my husband and I are looking into getting convertible crib set that goes from crib-toddler/day bed-full size bed. We are thinking this will get the child to at least mid teens before having to buy another furniture set. Any reviews on what manufacturer to use? Any pros or cons that people have experienced? Thanks for any insight or reviews :-)
