My betas came back negative!!!! It was 3. Not zero, but under 5 so I am SO relieved. My TV/US was clean last week, but this confirms that we have no reason to suspect retained tissue anymore. I'm truckin along through my first post-D&C AF....which also puts me on CD4 of our first cycle TTC again. I'm worried and excited, but I'm in a good head space.

@bethkate2, I saw your post on another thread about your results from testing. how is your thyroid med going? feeling ok? any word yet on the result from your HSG? thinking of you!

@MrsPhD83, woo hoo for negative betas! GL this cycle!

I'm feeling fine, but I was feeling ok before too, so I don't know if the meds are doing anything. Hopefully they are! No word on the HSG. I should probably call, but I think I've just come to terms with the fact that my left tube is probably blocked, so I'm not feeling anxious to get the official confirmation.

ETA: I actually just checked the patient portal and my HSG results are up (they weren't yesterday). It says, "Right-F&S (fill and spill?), Left-no fill" so there's my confirmation that my left tube is blocked. No surprise.

BethKate2, I know you were expecting that diagnosis, but I'm still sorry to hear about the blocked tube. I hope this provides you with useful information for developing a plan with your RE. Glad to hear you're still feeling good with the thyroid meds!

@bethkate I'm sorry you had to find out in the patient portal about your blockage. Just add that to the medical office fails that have been going on the past few days. I hope someone calls you and tells you!!

@amybunny30 A BIKINI WAX? you're nuts! I would love to do one....but I think my vagina would hate me.

AFM- just had my Follie (if my mac autocorrects this to "collie" one more time, I'm gonna punch something) Scan yesterday, and I had 3 big ones. 18,20, and 22mm. I triggered in the office, and now it's bd time! We got busy last night, and need to today as well but i've been feeling kind of crappy, so I guess i'll just have to power through!

@mrandmrsk91011 - Enjoy the vacation! I have always loved the kind with no cell phones or Internet.

No luck so far with the bleeding. I'm hoping it'll end soon but every time it starts to taper off it comes back with a vengeance it seems. My follow-up is Friday morning which I'm not looking forward to, but hopefully it'll be my last for this - six appointments in a month is too much for me.

Hi Ladies- I am still here! Thanks for the check-in @Bethkate2, I am also on thyroid meds, I hope it helps you feel better, I often don't notice unless my levels are way off so I never know if the meds are actually helping or not! And sorry about the crappy patient portal telling you about your tube, hopefully the RE can help get that situated ASAP

@Amybunny30 I have been getting brazilians for the last 5 years and love love love it! Have fun (I will also say I have been going so long I have little hair growth anymore and it makes my heart really happy).

AFM- I am 11 dpo, I couldn't hold out any longer and POAS this AM and got a BFN so I assume I am out this month. I am ready for AF to hurry up and make her appearance so we can move on to next month, but I assume she will wait for the weekend while we are in Napa at my sister's wedding, just to be a pain in my a$$. Gotta love it. I am pretty disappointed, which I am kind of surprised about because I knew that the likelihood of being pregnant this quick would be slim. Oh well, onto next month.

I'm just such an impatient person (which is rarely a good thing), and I know that once AF comes I'm that much closer to trying again. I also have to keep telling myself that just because I can try next month, does not mean I will get pregnant for sure next month. Can you girls help me keep my feet on the ground this next month?

mpiemont, me too!!!!!! It's definitely not a guarantee (at least for me, it took me more than 1 cycle to get PG the first time). It's easy to get ahead of yourself when you're excited to start TTC again. I'll keep you grounded, if you help me too! I have some travel plans towards the end of my cycle in case this cycle is a BFN. I figure it will give me something to look forward to and ward off disappointment.

@rslh10, I pretty much already knew that my tube was blocked because when I had the HSG, the radiologist said he thought it was but he was going to look at the images again. When I talked to my RE on Friday, she hadn't received the report from the hospital. I'll probably get a call this afternoon or tomorrow now that the results are up in the patient portal. @Amybunny30, there isn't anything they can do because it's likely blocked with scar tissue (or maybe fused together) from the surgery to remove my ectopic last year.

@Lalalady54, I'm the same way with the meds. I have no symptoms from the underactive thyroid and had no idea there was anything wrong until the blood work came back two weeks ago. I hope the meds are working, but I won't know until I get my blood drawn again. P.S. sorry about the BFN.

@mpiemont, I'll definitely help to keep you grounded next cycle!

@cfearsy I wish! No, still waiting on my first AF. It will be 5 weeks on Friday since my D&C. I'm 9DPO. I never wanted this bee-otch to show up as much as I do right now

I am so so sorry you're dealing with that ridiculousness (is that a word?)!!! Dealing with insurance/medical billing is by far the WORST. I really hope you get some resolution and some answers for what the future means as far as coverage.

@mpiemont‌ ridiculousness is for sure a word and @CFearsy‌ WTF is with your insurance company?! I will TP them for you twice!!! I think I would be so livid at this point I would be losing my shit!!! Oh and thanks for the TP to AF, she has still not shown her face so I'm sure she's waiting for the weekend, she can be such a hooker sometimes.

CFearsy, I'm sorry your insurance is being so annoying. In response to your question about how long I would wait to have my levels checked: my OB told me after my D&C that if I didn't have AF in 2 months that she wanted me to come back in. I ended up needing to be monitored for suspected retained tissue shortly after my D&C, so I had evidence that my betas zeroed out and I started AF on my own anyway. But I would say that for someone who actively wanted to TTC, 8 weeks is a good point to say "hey, something may be up." Did you have any unusual bleeding or spotting in the last 6 weeks? I would say that would warrant a beta check ASAP.

CFearsy, after my D&C, I had bleeding like a normal period for 1 day, lighter bleeding for 1 day and passed 1 clot, and then only needed a liner for 2-3 days. Around post-op Day 5, I started bleeding really heavily and passing many large clots. It lasted for about 6 hours. The next day, a TV/US revealed an area of increased blood flow in my uterus that was inconclusive (may or may not have been retained tissue - they couldn't tell). I had spotting for a week after that heavy bleeding episode. They started monitoring me weekly after the episode that until I zeroed out and my TV/US was clean. The spotting 4 weeks after your D&C may have been AF....I think everyone's first AF is different (e.g., my first AF right now is heavier than normal for me). Also, to answer your other question, it could be possible to have retained tissue and not turn a test positive because neg hcg levels are considered anything less than 5 and most PG tests only pick up hcg over 25. So there is a bit of a gap there. Sooooo all this to say that if your doc wasn't concerned at your appointment, and you're getting neg. home PG tests, I would wait 2 weeks and see if AF shows up. If she doesn't (or its really light and spotty again), call your doc and ask for a beta draw. Hope that helps!

AFM, my next step is really just to wait until my thyroid levels are checked in 2 weeks to see if the meds are working. I need to schedule a consult with my RE to discuss next steps, but I don't want to until my levels are under control. Then, we'll come up with a plan for TTC. My guess is like I'll likely end up doing IUI, but we'll see, I guess.

XP on all my check ins: AF decided to show up literally as I walked into our beach house for vacation. What an evil vindictive bee-otch. Hoping my 1st post loss AF isn't a killer. Trying to look on the bright side- CD1 is one day closer to O.

@BethKate2‌ I'm happy to say he's back to his normal. We've talked about things a little but at a time and agreed we are going to try when AF returns. I also hope you get your thyroid levels on track

Only news this week is that AF returned on the 27th!!! So now let the fun begin. I want to get some OPK but don't want to spend $45 on the clearblue advanced digi like I did last time. I love how easy testing is but I have a feeling I will be testing a lot since I know I just o'd a week before AF came. So any suggestions as to what kind of OPK's to get? I need to order within the next 2 days or just suck it up and get the clearblue digi for this cycle.

@pinkglitterfly, I definitely recommend wondfo OPKs from Amazon. I usually buy packages of 50 OPKs and 20 HPTs for about $17. I use way too many of them every cycle to spend the money on the expensive ones.

@pinkglitterfly‌ I would use the digis! Wondfo worked for me too, but the digis are easier IMO.
