Coobie Bra & Nursing - one person has tried this, looking for more experiences

So, I bought a Coobie bra when my chest got to big for my normal bras. I liked the idea that it would stretch with me so I wouldn't need to get more throughout the pregnancy. Their website says that people use them for nursing too. I'm just wondering if any of you have used one for nursing. Does it work well or do other nursing bras work better?

  • I've never personally used it so I just googled. They look similar to the Genie bras, super comfy and don't show lines, I've wanted to buy some personally just for the comfort factor.

However, I would buy actual nursing bras for nursing. These you'll have to pull down or pull your boob up and out of which doesn't work very well, especially under clothes. I've tried with super stretch sports bras and it makes nursing difficult for your newborn.

  • @emoxymooseThe straps unhook in the front so I don't think your description is quite accurate.

I have these, and I did use them while nursing my daughter.  But, only at home.

The material really has no structure/thickness (at least the ones I have from a couple years ago), so once you unlatch it to nurse, it's a little more cumbersome to latch it back up.  My regular nursing bras have a bit more structure so they're easy to flip back in place.  Also, the thin material shows the nursing pads if you need them.

They are comfortable but don't have a ton of support.  I'm a 36D/DD while pregnant (and while I was nursing my daughter) and I wouldn't have worn the Coobie bra under a tight shirt at work.

    Edit to clarify:
It is difficult to latch back up after nursing both because the thin material slides down, AND I lose the straps behind me since they're no longer attached to anything.  it can be an fishing expedition to get them back over my shoulder.

  • Anyone else have a similar experience to CocoGelato or an entirely different experience?
  • I don't know what the boob situation is like for you, but there is no way in hell a Coobie would fit me (32A thru 36D for the regular size and 38 thru 42D for the "full" size). If you think you'll be larger than a D cup after giving birth, it may not be a good choice.

It will fit me. I didn't start big and am still within the size range with room to spare. I find it comfortable. I'm just getting tired of switching between the only 2 bras that fit and I was trying to figure out if I got more coobies if it would also work for nursing. So far it sounds like only  CocoGelato has used them. I'm currently smaller than her. I don't know if I'll still get bigger or not. I've stayed about the same since the first growth spurt that sent me bra shopping at about 8 wks.
  • Has anyone else tried the Coobie for nursing? So far only one person has and it would be great to know the experience of a coupe more. Thanks so much.

Did anyone else read this as "cookie bra?"  No; just me?  OK then--I'll be in the kitchen getting myself a cookie.
