Pregnant after IF

***2nd Tri Check-in 7/29/14***

This is a weekly check-in for members in their second trimester. You can feel free to join at 14 weeks and we will bid you an excited farewell on your way to third tri after 27 weeks. If there are any newcomers that would like to be added to the list, post below and include your EDD<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

How far along are you this week?

Any appointments or other updates?

Also, please let me know if I have your “team”listed correctly or if it needs to be updated.

QOTW: I hope you all don’t mind but I thought instead of a question I would put a request out there.  My request is that we take the time we would normally spend answering this question and have a moment of silence (or message) to honor @ekc0630 sweet angel Jonathan Daniel.

Ashris13 Every day gets a little better.  Baby B is moving all around now and I'm finally feeling movement so it helps a little.  I have an echo for baby b on August 8th and then a transfer of care on Aug 11.  Nothing till then so the doppler has been my best friend.  Knowing I have so much support and the ability to vent when I need to is a blessing.  DH is doing better.  He was so angry and wouldn't talk to anyone but me.  Now he is opening up more and just found out one of his co-workers went through the same thing.  I told him the more you talk about it the more you find out it is not as uncommon as you would think.  We are trying to figure out a way to honor Jonathan in the nursery (which was already set up for twins.  not ready to tackle that) I'm not sure of what to do.  Any Ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks again everyone for your thoughts and prayers.  It really does mean the world to me.
Tackle the nursery when you can handle it, you have time.

FWIW, my niece (10 y.o.) bought me a lawn ornament of an angel for Mother's day this year. It is the kind that is on a stake and collects energy from the sun during the day and then glows in the dark at night. She said she wanted Squirt to have our angel babies as a guardian angel and a night light (the nursery is on an outside wall and the angel will be right outside the window).

You (or someone who also loves your children!) will find the right way.

  • @Ashris13 Thanks for the wonderful check-in and congrats on (almost) V-day!! I'm counting down the weeks to mine!

@ekc0630 Thinking of you and your DH at this difficult time. I think it's a great idea to include something in the nursery. Do you have pictures/ultrasound images that you can transfer to a larger portrait? That's what we are going to do. I figure that our surviving twin would like to have them someday. We are also planting a tree in our front yard and will take our baby's picture with it each year. Praying for you that you can learn to grieve and enjoy your pregnancy at the same time.

AFM: I will be 19 weeks tomorrow. Our a/s is next Thursday at 20+1! We are excited, but nervous. Ultrasounds make me very anxious. Our twin is still visible on the ultrasounds and they have to measure him/her every time. That part is really difficult and sometimes overtakes the joy I should be feeling. This sounds just horrible, but I'm hoping that by 20 weeks, the other baby is hidden behind our surviving baby. While it will be hard to not see the baby anymore, it might allow me to enjoy an ultrasound. Not sure. I'm starting to let myself have hope that this pregnancy is "the one", but it's very scary.

  • Ashris- Congrats on V day. I can't wait for that day. Once its finally hear I feel like there will be a little sigh of relief.

    Prayers for baby Jonathan.

AFM- 18 weeks.  Its gonna be a long wait until my August 11th appointment at the hospital.  I'm hoping the baby's bowel is looking better and no other issues arise.  I am always so nervous.  I am not feeling the baby yet so that worries me. I do feel random cramping every day but thas it.

Anyone else worried they aren't gaining enough weight?  I have gained less than 5 lbs.  The baby is in the 48% so the drs say that is good.  I'm ready to have a bump....hopefully soon.

I hope all you ladies are doing well.

  • @Ashris13 Thanks for the personal check-in! You are so sweet! Congrats on being so close to v-day!!

Warning: rant coming . . . . Yesterday's OB appt was kind of a disaster. My last appt was at 11w and the u/s tech told me the baby was too small to get any measurements for the NT scan. So we decided to do the Panorama test at my 15w appt and the Dr said she wanted another scan at 15w just to get a look at the NT measurement areas (even though we couldn't use the measurement for the test). So we sat there for 1.5 hours waiting for our u/s. Then my nurse called us back for the OB part of the appt and I was not happy. I started asking what was going on, etc. The u/s tech said we didn't need to be seen b/c she did get the measurement at the 11w appt, even though she told me and the Dr she didn't. I love my Dr, but I hate the medical group she works for. Their office is awful and the front staff doesn't have adequate training.

We were livid b/c we missed all this time at work for nothing. On top of that based upon this appt (we were going to confirm gender) I was going to buy the nursery furniture (I have 15% coupon that expires tomorrow), do a photo shoot to announce gender, start setting up the nursery, etc. Now we await the Panorama results to confirm the gender. I just want to know so we can get things rolling for this baby (I am a big time planner, so all this waiting is killing me).

  • Somehow I missed the jump from the 1st tri checkin over to this one, but I am thrilled to be in the second trimester. I am cruising along at 16 weeks. The nausea is overall better but surprises me when it shows up unexpectedly. Looking forward to my ob appointment this Friday. I haven't announced my pregnancy at work yet and as a result, can't announce it on Facebook, which I really want to do because it feels like I am keeping a big secret.

  • Update: I'm 19w4d today. On Monday night, the little flutters in my belly turned to legit kicks. It was pretty exciting, but by the time I got DH in the room, little guy was done kicking. I did end up going in for a cervical check and ultrasound last week after my crazed puppy-chasing run. I started to cramp and feel nervous, so my OB had me come in. Fortunately everything was fine. I have my 20 week ultrasound with the MFM next Thursday and am excited to see my little guy in such detail.

Can't believe I'm already at 17 weeks! Yesterday I had a doctors appointment. Baby's heartbeat was "perfect" and I had my blood drawn for the quad screening. I should get the results for that next week. I switched OB's because my OB is due to have her baby 12 days after me. This being my first baby I'm just not comfortable with the possibility of not having my OB there. I have my first appt with the new OB at the end of August. I get to have my anatomy scan at the hospital in three weeks (we will not be finding out the sex...I don't think....). Seems like everything is moving so fast! I finally felt movement over the weekend. It really freaked me out. Felt it again today too when the cat was laying on my stomach. Baby does not like to be squished.

Running is getting harder. I have a lot of round ligament pain after. I bought a Gabriella belt. Hoping that it helps because I refuse, yes flat out refuse to give up on running pregnant.

  • I'm 21w6d today! We were in Disney World last week. I handled the walking and heat pretty well. Yesterday we had our A/S. It was the first time we'd seen him since 9 weeks. He looked good and was really active. It's funny how I feel him kick and punch me but I can't feel all that movement that he's clearing doing. He's got really long legs just like me and DH. Now that we're back from vacation I guess we'll have to start tackling the nursery and finish up our registry. I also need to get cracking on filling out forms for the hospital and looking into daycare and stuff. We've kind of been slackers.

@ekc0630 I'm so sorry for your loss. T&P are with you.

     TTC since August 2011, Me = 40, DH = 38
Unexplained IF. Tried Clomid for 3 cycles. All BFNs. BFP 1/6/13. Chemical pregnancy.

Moving on to IVF#1. ER 11/26/13, 16 eggs retreived, 12 mature and all fertilized. 2 blasts transferred on 12/1. All other embies arrested so nothing left to freeze. Beta 12/10 = BFN. IVF #2 March 2014. BFP!!! TEAM BLUE!!!

I'm 20 weeks today!! Yay! Had A/S before vacation, everything looked great. Next appoint is next week, don't know what they'll do. I can't believe how quickly 4 weeks goes by now. I guess being in the Caribbean for a week helps ;-)

We are team green :) Hubby was pouting when the lady told us to turn away from the monitor during the scan lol. Apparently the baby is moving a lot but I don't really feel anything.

  • @Ashris13 thanks for the weekly personalized check in! Congrats on making it to V-day!

QOTW: @ekc0630 thoughts and prayers to you and your family during this difficult time. I'm so sorry for your loss.

AFM: I'm 24w7d no appointments until middle of August. Heartburn has been increasing like crazy especially in the afternoons & evenings (tums are my new best friend). I'm enjoying feeling Baby A kick - he is our active baby, while B (aka 'chill baby') I don't feel him as much (I keep telling myself it is his position. . .nothing else). Other than that the nursery is overwhelmed with baby stuff since many of our friends are done with their families and we are getting all the hand me downs, which is really good. I really need to sort and organize all the baby stuff. . .I think that will be the plan this weekend (hopefully) so we can make room to build those cribs.

Hello ladies! Thanks @Ashris13 again for a great check-in.  Congrats on reaching V-day!

I'm finally officially half-baked!  20w1d today.  My nausea previously went away around week 10/11 and I had been feeling great for the past 2.5 months.  However, this weekend I slept terribly and nausea came back to hit me on Sunday.  And, I was so nauseous that I threw up for the 1st time just one day shy of 20 weeks.   Thank God I slept better the past two nights and had no more nausea today.   (I didn't want to dish out $50 for a pregnancy pillow and got a body pillow in Target for $10, I slept like a baby)

Otherwise I have not much to report.  Next appointment is in two weeks.  Guess I still don't look prego because none of my coworkers has asked me yet.  My boss knows and that's it.   Last week a patient's daughter asked me, but that's because she gave me a big hug and she was sitting down starring right at my belly level.  Now I'm curious to see if I can make it to 24 weeks before anyone will notice my bump.   I wear a lot of baggy shirts and flowy dresses.

Thinking of you and your family @ekc0630  ((hugs))

Update:  I'm 22w4d today and doing great!  Not much to update this week, but I do have a regular OB appointment next week.

  • Late to the game this week. 22 + 3 today and not much to report. Baby is moving like crazy and while I love the reassurance, it has become such a weird feeling. I'm still not sure I feel a connection to the little one.. pregnancy, and babies still feel like such a foreign concept to me.

My thoughts are with you @ekc0630
  • Can I be added? EDD is 1/20/15 with twins!

Things are going really well at the moment. I go in next Wednesday for an u/s. I'm hoping we can find out the genders!

  • Hi everyone - I keep forgetting to join the 2nd tri check-in! Can you please add me to the list @Ashris13?

My EDD is January 18th. We're having one baby :)

I'm 15 weeks 4 days today and things have been going pretty smoothly for a few a weeks now. We had a scare this past weekend, but everything is just fine. Over the next two weeks I'll be finishing up the blood work for the integrated screen, having my next regular OB appointment, and going in for the anatomy scan. I am so anxious and excited about the a/s.

Thoughts and prayers for little Jonathan Daniel <3

  • 24 weeks this week and so happy I made it to v day! Babies are moving like crazy and it's bizarre how much you can already see my stomach move and jump around. Doctor apt went well, apparently my cervix is like "Fort Knox" and I'm measuring 30 weeks already. I got to 40+ with my daughter so I'm just going to try not to worry about premature labor till I measure over 40 weeks. My goal is to make it to my next appointment without needing to call my doctor! My thoughts an prayers are with @ekc0630‌ and family. I wish there was something I could say to help but there are just no words to express how sorry I am.

  • I'm 15w2d today and the maternit21 test results came back inconclusive because of the vanishing twin. So I went on Tuesday and gave more blood for another test. It's getting really fustrated and annoying cuz this is my 3rd time going!! Thankfully I didn't have to take anytime off cuz my parents were able to get me there and come back to work during my lunch hour. Other than that, nothing's new. It's been a busy week.

@ekc0630‌ - Again, I'm really sorry to hear about baby Jonathan - I hope you'll be able to find peace and enjoy the rest of your pregnancy. Sending you lots of t&ps!

  • Im really late to this check in, I worked the past two nights and im completely cut off on days I work. But I went to a prenatal spa today to have an u/s and see if they were right at my NT scan about the genders...and they were, its a boy and a girl! I love seeing them, but my poor little girl is already being annoyed by her brother, his butt was in her face and he was taking up all the room she was just sqwished, we couldn't even see her face because his butt was in the way lol but they are 5oz each and look great. I am feeling a little more movement so I don't think it will be long until ill feel some good kicks. I won't have another u/s until week 20 :-( but having to wait gives me something to look forward to and makes time pass.

@eck0630 my heart breaks for you I'm so sorry for your loss. For each loss mentioned on this forum I have cried and my heart and prayers go out to all that have had to go through such pain

  • Hi ladies!! Sorry I've been MIA. I have been swamped at my M-F job. I also work as a freelance makeup artist and with wedding season I'm working 6-7 days a week. Needless to say I've been crazy busy!

I'm 18wks5days today and overall I'm feeling pretty good. I've started to feel the baby kick and wiggle which has been surreal. I'm still nauseous but it's a lot more manageable. I also had my first stranger ask me when I'm due. I'm glad I'm staring to look more and more pregnant and not so much like a lady who likes to eat too much :) the anatomy scan is this Tuesday! DH and I won't be finding out the sex of the baby. I'm really excited to see how the baby was progressed since our 12wk u/s. Hopefully everything will loom good :)

@eck0630 I'm so so sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

  • @ekc0630 - Sending my thoughts to you and your family. I'm so sorry for your loss.

@Ashris13 - Congrats on V-day! Many thanks for the personalized touch to the 2nd tri check in. I can't believe how quickly it has flown by! Holy Moly, only 13 weeks to go! Ahhhhh!!!  See you in a few weeks over in 3rd tri.

My next appointment is a repeat u/s to check that the low lying placenta has moved.

We've practiced installing the car seat base in both of our cars. Haven't yet installed the car seat. We took advantage of a couple of recent Target deals to get a Rock and Play as well as a swing. We also started our diaper stock pile. It's starting to feel more real.
