Hi everyone, I'm a new member, and I've patiently been waiting to be able to post. I've been going crazy for the last week. We have been off birth control for the last 2 months. This month I really really really feel like I'm pregnant. I am due for my period on the 30th (if I'm regular which I'm not usually). I took an early result test on Saturday (the 26th) and today (the 28th) both of them negative. But I still really feel pregnant (granted I've never been pregnant before). But I've been feeling so off, especially the last week. I've been super nauseated all the time but certain foods and smells really trigger it and I've almost ralphed every where. My breasts are swollen up like cantelopes. I sware my stomach is pooched out. My moods have been fragile. And the biggest thing to me is the general "off" feeling I just feel like I'm "buzzing" or something.
I honestly don't know what I'm going to do with myself. I am going insane waiting to find out "for sure". I feel like I shouldn't have taken the stupid tests anyways. Cause all its done is made me feel worse. I don't know how I can stand to wait longer to find out. Anybody out there take hpt just to find out they were pregnant after all. How did you deal with the unneasieness of not really knowing? Any just general ideas on how to deal? Anything would be appreciated though I guess you get this a lot.
Re: Going crazy...negative pregnancy test but still feel pregnant
I recommend reading the newbie blog that is the first thread on the top. And again.... breathe

In my 1st month TTC #2 (#1 was a surprise so I had no idea about this shit) I noticed everything from cramps to minor heartburn to tiredness. I convinced myself I was pregnant as I thought I never got these types of symptoms usually.
Turns out I did get these sorts of things every month I had just not noticed them before as I wasn't TTC. As a reminder from my body to my brain to never be so stupid again, I pissed on a stick and while I waited for the response (which I just totes knew was going to be omg positive) I wiped and discovered AF had turned up. It was a First Response too so it was a double kick to the lady balls.
The moral of the story is all the symptoms in the world mean shit. It's the test you listen to.
Edited to cut out slang otherwise none of that would have made sense to 99% of you.

As others have said, until your hormones are high enough to give you a positive pregnancy test, they aren't high enough to be causing all kinds of symptoms.
There is a lot of waiting in trying to get pregnant. Waiting to O and waiting until you can test and waiting for your period. It is a true test of patience and it can take a healthy couple up to a year to get pregnant. If the test is negative you are not pregnant right now. When you go off BC sometimes your body and hormones do funny things. Keep waiting and test again in a few more days.

Anybody out there take hpt just to find out they were pregnant after all.
many times. Recently I've been BF for almost a year. My cycle returned recently & the PMS symptoms felt exactly like pg symptoms. I took an HPT last week out of sheer curiosity because I've been feeling weird. Turns out I'm just tired, sleep deprived & need my period to make up it's mind.
How did you deal with the unneasieness of not really knowing?
Well a negative pg test *is* knowing. No HCG = no pregnancy. The way I deal is keep dollar store tests on hand & POAS occasionally. Granted my cycles are all over the place because of breast feeding. We sporadically use condoms (not trying & not preventing all the time) so we are playing it by ear as it is.
Any just general ideas on how to deal? Anything would be appreciated though I guess you get this a lot.
It's a common enough question. Find a new hobby. Volunteer for a new group. My kids keep me busy with their activities & I am going to nursing school too. So I don't have time to go crazy, to be honest. Well, either that or I'm already there. :P 8-}

I had a two day wait to post.
Which brings me to my point... How can you be so "desperate" to know if you are pregnant that you can wait two full days to post? Surely there are quicker ways.

Wishful thinking doesn't change things. If your test is negative, you're not currently pregnant. Test weekly until CD60 or a BFP.
I'm really not trying to be mean, but I honestly think you can work yourself into symptoms if you want to. If you start thinking about how nauseated you are, and focus on it, and focus on it then it will become worse and worse. Like with a headache if you will.
From my experience, and from what others have told me, we didn't feel pregnant until after we got a positive hpt. We took hpt because we knew we had unprotected sex, and could be pregnant, not because we "felt" pregnant.
I wish you luck.

In addition the reason I am having such a hard time is because the tests are only like 50 to 70% accurate right now. And I'm having a hard time believing this is all "in my head" or period related. And on top of that I foolishly googled about negative testing when actually pregnant and there are a lot of women out there who were preggos ut tested negative.
Has anyone ever heard of someone actually having a hysterical pregnancy? Where you have all the symptoms gain weght and everything? I've seen it on the TV show glee (I know its corny its my guilty pleasure ok? Lol) but is such a thing actually possible?
I suppose anything is possible, but the number of women who get false negatives is far less than the number of women who are just not pregnant. Otherwise no one would ever trust a pregnancy test.

Rude? You would have preferred I say it's totally possible you're pregnant in spite of negative tests because you have nausea? Yeah..no. My answer still stands.
You're not going to believe anything we say, except for a confirmation, and you're not going to get it (unless it's massively sarcastic). It's fine if you insist you're pregnant, but don't get mad that we're not going to believe you. You've gotten plenty of good advice and info, what you do with it is up to you.

The TWW thread is a great place to discuss your symptoms and testing plans, etc. However, be aware that your "my period is due" or "i'm late" laments aren't going to be well-tolerated, even there, unless you have confirmed ovulation via BBT. the ladies over there that don't monitor BBT are willing to admit that they can't actually tell whether they're late or not because they didn't confirm ovulation. You either confirm O and can tell that you're late, or you don't confirm O and you keep your mouth shut about it because you realize it is your own fault for not doing the legwork.
OP, after you get your next period, start tracking your BBT, download FF, read the newbie blog, and then hop into the WTO and TWW threads to give and get support. random threads about "pregnancy symptoms" don't go over well here (with good reason). you are not alone, and the TWW thread will put that into perspective. I have also been off BCP for 2 cycles now, and i'm not pregnant yet. it happens. if you're healthy and under 35 it should happen for you within 12 months. If it doesn't, and you need the assistance of an RE, there are also specific boards where you can gain support for that. i would advise researching those instead of posting random threads.
I am so happy to learn how to include gifs in my post now after stalking this thread. Thanks @nariadreaming and @CLECyclist (and others). You guys always post the most hilarious and clever stuff. ("what does the test say" being the most hilarious).
