4)We eat a lot of regular adult veggies and some meats that we cook at home. Hardly any processed baby stuff.
To me, this is the most flameful part of your 'confession'. #mykideatsonlyGerberandEllasKitchen #thehorror
Yeah, baby food these days is just about as "pure" as food can get. Fruits and veggies are taken straight to be triple washed, steamed and jarred, avoiding all the middle men that grocery store fruits and veggies endure.
I think it isn't fair when the adult parent imbibes in tons of sweets and then disallows their child to have sweets, ever. Especially when its what children crave. Your brain is fueled on glucose, you do kinda need some. In addition, kids will find sweets. On the playground, in school. The best thing is to practice a balanced diet yourself and your kids will follow in example. My favorite kinds of sweets personally are ice cream and chocolate. I'm not a big fan of super sweet sugary things. I consume no HFCS. I drink no pop or fruit juice. A single taste of sweets here and there childhood obesity doth not make. Its all in habits, patterns and healthy lifestyle. I also feel like if its completely disallowed the plan will backfire tenfold. I don't really have any scientific data behind this, its just common sense. Edit: Just for some context, I know someone who has an unhealthy relationship with food themselves and doesn't give their kid sweets. The entire family would be better served if my friend just evaluates her own relationship with food rather than projecting onto her kid.
