When I was working in mental health we saw a lot of Dual Diagnosis patients. In general the meds either made them feel 'normal' or when everyone is high/drunk crazy doesn't seem so crazy.
I also agree that the multiple 'treatments' are probably due to multiple causes/issues that present similarly.
As for the article there are worse things then marijuana so if further study shows it to be safe/effective in helping kids on the spectrum I would be open to hoping a plane to CO and trying it.
After all anxiety is a huge component of ASD and if marijuana mellows the kid out I can see how the reduction in anxiety alone could lead to some reduction in ASD symptoms.
