DS is only taking in about 10 oz of bm at daycare. He's there from 7:40-5:15. I feel this isn't enough and explains why he wakes so much at night.
How much is LO eating while away from you?

I posted a couple days ago that my daughter is refusing bottles. She ate 2oz of bm in 9 hrs today. A general rule of thumb is 1 oz for every hour they are away from you. That is for breastfeeding but not sure if same guideline for FF? My son took more than this rule, (3 or 4, 4oz bottles in 9 hrs) and my daughter will hopefully stop this refusal business.

4oz in 14 hours at the most. She's still adjusting to what is probably the biggest change in her life. I think some reverse cycling is not unusual at the beginning.

Some days it's 12oz others it can be as much as 20oz. He seems to be more comfortable with the ladies at daycare. It's been 3 weeks since I went back to work.

LO is piggy. With grandma he's eating about the same as he did with DH and I - 16-24 oz in 9 hours. We'll see what he does when he starts DC next week.

Dd her first week of darcare took on 5-6 oz a day for the 8 1/2 hours. Then wanted to nurse constantly until bedtime. She is now there 730-4. Eats right before at 630 the will take 8 oz all day. Then will eat about every hour until bedtime. She isnt unhappy. Is you lo acting unhappy with how much he is eating?

He consistently takes about 12 oz and is there from 8-5:30.

DD2 is taking about 9 oz over the same time period. I agree that 10 oz is just fine for the 1 oz every hour "rule"

It's also normal for babies to feed more at night/over night. DD1 slept through the night at 5 weeks. DD2 still wakes through the night at 14 weeks. All babies are different, so unless your pediatrician mentions a specific concern and as long as LO is gaining weight appropriately at appointments, I wouldn't worry about it.

It will probably change a little bit over time, but BF babies don't eat as much as formula fed babies because their bodies use the BM more efficiently.
