August Mommas

This check-in is for mommas who lost a baby due in the month of August (any year), and any late loss mommas who gave birth and lost their precious angel in August.

AFM on life- I'm helping with the crafts at our church's vacation bible school this week. I got a photography job, taking pictures of local Burger Kings. Thrilling I know, but I get $100 a store so I will do it!

AFM on TTC- FF moved my CHs this morning, so instead of being 5dpo I'm back to 3dpo, gah!! So our timing is still in the "good" category but I'm not happy with it.

QOTW: I've been binge watching Pretty Little Liars, it's addicting.

Hi Mara,
It was a super busy week as we volunteer to put on our town's festival. Take six days off work to do it. Weather was great and good crowds. Only down part was the last night walking through the crowd about to watch the fireworks an old acquaintance of dh got introduced to me and immediately asked if we had kids - and then kept on about how his parents want more grandkids. I said something (don't even remember what) and I heard her say to dh "Oh, she's one of those that doesn't want kids huh?" Thank goodness I was already drinking with more available because she really pissed me off. With others that asked I had been able to calmly say we tried for five years with infertility treatments but nothing had works so we were moving on with life - but the way this woman was pushing I just couldn't. She's lucky I didn't punch her!

Thank you for the checkin @mara005. That's so impressive that you got a commercial photography gig! Where will the photos be displayed?

Sorry about your dates being shifted backward, but at least you weren't too far off in the timing. It sounds like FF has been a bit wonky these days.

@katib77-- Ughh--what a rotten thing to happen. I wish I had been there to punch that horrid woman in the face. I hope you had a great time at the festival--I really miss the fair in my mom's hometown--it was quintessential summer fun! In my current state, booze aren't served at the fair/ festivals, and I feel like it's a big factor in the fun and antics.

As for me, I should be at 9 dpo. My mom is coming tomorrow for a visit, and I am looking forward to that even though I have a lot of work to do to get the house ready. No appointments coming up. We'll see what happens this cycle.

Favorite TV show--I love cooking competition shows! Top chef, kitchen nightmares, etc.

@sfazar - How are you feeling how this cycle? Does you mom live far away? Do you have any fun plans for her visit? Also I LOVE cooking shows, have you seen cut throat kitchen?

@mara005 I'm feeling pretty good this cycle, thanks for asking. I'm not too tired at all, but I am kind of crampy right now. My madre is coming from all the way across the country, so it will be a nice change of scene for her. I'm thinking we'll go to the beach. Plus she's excited to see my kitchen renovation progress. And I love antiquing with her! I haven't seen Cutthroat Kitchen--will have to try that!!

The other completely ridiculous show that has fascinated me and DH lately is married at first sight.

AFM: Honestly, I feel like everything is going wrong this cycle and I'm afraid I'm going to end up cancelled partly because I cried at RE when I thought I O'd too early. I have an appt. really early tomorrow morning and hopefully they just monitor me better and this cycle is okay. I hate having no control.

DH has the next 9 days off and I have at least 7 of them off as well. We are putting up the pool tomorrow and getting new cable installed, then, if my cycle is not cancelled, we're going to CA's Great America on Thursday.

QOTW: My favorite show right now is Grey's Anatomy, but the show I keep up with that is actually on right now is Big Brother. I have no shame.
