Newbie-dry skin ?

Hi everyone I just started CDing my newborn. It's been 2 days and she started getting dry skin around her legs where the diaper rubs and around her belly. Is this normal? She is only a week old so she still has some dry skin all over. Just want to know if this will get better or if it will be ongoing? Thanks! ETA: I use prefolds with a cover if that makes any difference.

Newborns shed skin a lot, so they are bound to shed more where things rub. It'll get better. Just keep their skin moisturized
