After something I observed at work yesterday, I decided to remind people here to not trust the allergy information from restaurants, especially fast food restaurants. Rest assured that I will be taking this up with my general manager/restaurant owner as well.
According to the printed, publicly available information, the grilled chicken is milk free, and they have been until recently. Yesterday, I watched a co-worker cook the chicken in butter. When I asked my shift supervisor today, he said that they will be changing to that as soon as they run out of the spray cooking oil. The allergy info has NOT been updated to reflect this change and no signs are posted to warn milk allergic customers that a sandwich/salad they previously enjoyed will now cause them issues.
ALWAYS request to speak to a manager to confirm the allergy information provided is current, no matter how busy the restaurant is.
