Survived Bible school with a 2 year old!

Hallelujah!  Took little brother along for his first year of vacation Bible school this past week.  He wasn't a fan of sitting down to hear the Bible story at the beginning, but he loved craft time and snack time!  Every night from 6pm-8:15pm with a class of 22 kids infant to 4 years old, boy was it a long week!  Tomorrow they do a little program during church service and chances are low that he will stay up front on the stage with the other kids the whole time.  Anybody else do Bible school with your LO this summer?

  • Good for you!  We were present at Bible School last year, but DD  didn't really participate.  This year we moved to a new church that didn't have a VBS this summer (which I am sort of thankful for - wrangling both girls past their bedtimes while trying to make a good impression on a new congregation doesn't seem like a fun idea!).  I am looking forward to it next year, though when Jane can participate more!

  • Our VBS is 9-11:45am and 4yrs-6th grade. We had a nursery for the ones younger for the workers. The first two days were rough as DD had been going through a "I only want Mommy phase." But by Wednesday, she was fine. I took her upstairs with me for the opening and closing songs, etc. I had the pre-k class so she liked sitting with them. :)
