Month Badges

Hey everyone, I know that I am still new to the board so I hope I don't step on anyone's toes by asking, but would anyone be interested in updating the month badges? I noticed some of the text is hard to read when the images are shrunk to siggy size so I thought that I could offer. I use to do graphic design and it keeps my mind off things. If people were interested maybe we could let each check-in have their own feedback on how it looks to make it more of community project. Once again, I don't mean to offend anyone by asking so I hope no one takes it that way. I'm just sorely in need of a new project and one that has meaning.

@snegde - I was thinking along the same lines, more about adding an option that everyone had input on . . . does that make more sense? I didn't have any intention of replacing anything.

My opinion is go for it! You won't upset anyone (I wouldn't think) and it will give you a project. I'm an oct and feb loss veteran - would love to see your ideas!

I haven't added a badge to my siggy yet, but would be interested in adding one for July. Like others have said, having options can't hurt. Thanks for taking on this project.

Honestly April could use some updating. I'd be happy to ask my check-in what they'd like to see and relay that to you. I think the other check-in leaders could do the same or just tell you to go for it. Thank you for offering to do this. I know April's badges haven't been updated in quite some time

I'm hoping to working on any and all of the months, I just didn't want to be disrespectful to anyone who may have made previous badges by jumping right in. They really won't take a lot of time to complete but I need to nail down each month's saying. I tried to skim the other check-ins as I know I'd seen an October one not on the blog but on the board.

These are the ones I have seen from different badges but those with multiples per month what do you ladies prefer to see? Also would those that are angels want anything specific to their month or leave it as is . . . I won't change these names unless that particular check-in wants it done - it's not my place to do otherwise.

Here are a few ideas that I threw together for January to give a better example. I haven't shrunk them down to size yet in case people want changes to these so I tried to change the HTML to match a rough idea of the typical size.

@snegde - Thanks for the correction, I had seen one before that used firework so I wanted to double check that it was correct. Let me know what you think.

@HeatherSF11, @Rocks526, @GrailSeeker14 - Here are a few for July. Sorry they are dark but hard to find pictures of sparklers with much color. Fonts can be switched along with anything else if you want it tweaked. I don't mind and it's not that hard.

@Poppy715 - Definitely talk to your check-in ladies and see what they would like. I noticed most everyone uses diamonds so I ran with that. Would love some feedback or even new ideas to do them differently for you all. Let's make it something that fits.

@ktlovess - These look great! Would you mind if I make just one or two more to compliment these? Sounds crazy but I'd feel like I'm missing something if I skip a month, guess I'm OCD in that area.

@MyFirstRaspberry - I'm hoping to do all of the months - my horse kind of broke my groove for this week as I had to spend all day at the barn to fix her shoe. I'll tag you when I get to September though. Is there anything in particular you would like or not like to see in it?

Special thanks to @lav17 for sharing her photos for this project! I was able to use them for all of May and looking forward to using them for several upcoming badges as well. I'll be sure to let everyone know which ones.

I love love love these two. Feel free to add another "theme" if you wish. There are only a couple of ladies in the check in right now. I know this time last year is when the influx happened since April gets their BFP's in late July and Aug. About a month from now I'll unfortunatly be getting a huge increase in numbers. Could you maybe make a sweatpea one too? I know that was used a bunch but most those ladies have graduated or moved on. Any other ideas for April? I'm totally open to suggestions (from you or anyone).

 

Thank you for taking on this project. The new badges look beautiful and bring a little color and specialness to the check-ins.

Here's a silly question, and I may have scrolled past the answer, but where does one find the month badges? Obviously I've noticed them on my check-in board but I wasn't sure if it was OK to "steal" from another poster or if it's somewhere specific to download.

The march swing badge is amazing. It seriously evokes emotion out if me. It's beautiful and sums up our empty arms and hearts so well.

I can't wait to see them all finished. When you're done, I think you should make a thread with them all together in there, maybe? So it would be easier for everyone to find. Or I guess maybe the ladies can just stick them in the check-ins, huh lol. Silly me, typing before I think! You're doing a great job, @paintdadanta!

I love the Wintery one... that is what March was like for me this year. Icy and grey. I agree that the swing badge is AWESOME.

I am going to page @Frenchteachermama, since she is running the check in, so she can take a look at these badges!

I think the March ones are great!  I like that people can have a choice.

Thank you so much for offering your expertise! I'd like to see the name "sept sapphires" in there somewhere. But at the same time, I am open to new ideas as well. Let your creativity flow!
