I know it can cause allergy on babies, but I also know the recommendation to giving the egg yolk on babies is ok, or a least they have change the list of allergenic foods for babies. Anyway ladies if you give egg yolk to your babies, for how many minutes you boiled the egg? I know is a stupid question, but I really don't know how to tell when the egg is ready until the shell break.

I put the eggs in the pot and cover with cool water. Put on the stove, bring to a boil, boil for one minute, turn off stove. Let egg sit in water for 11 minutes. Drain off hot water, then cover eggs with very cold water.

I always separated the egg before I cooked it and scrambled it with a little BM. Hard boiled were too dry. I would just add the white to my egg. The Dr. had us start egg yolk as one of DS first foods because he was small. (Dr said to do hard boiled mixed in apple sauce. yuck!) Apparently it is rare to be allergic to the yolk. Most people are only allergic to the whites.

I just gave whole eggs, scrambled, right off the bat. Latest recommendations are there's no reason to hold back on any food but honey unless food allergies run in your family. When I hard boil a egg I either steam it for ten minutes or put it in cool water, bring to boil, immediately turn off and let it sit for ten minutes with a lid on the lot.

That's interesting because generally you're considered high risk if you have at least one first degree relative with food allergies or a variety of other symptoms like eczema.

I try to stick with what the groups like aap and aafp say since I feelike that's more reliable than an individual doctor.
