I'm sorry for your loss. It sounds like you had a chemical pregnancy, which is a very early pregnancy loss. I haven't experienced that kind of loss myself but many ladies here unfortunately have had firsthand experience with CPs.
My husband and I have been trying for a year. I wasn't ovulating regularly and started clomid 2 months ago. A week after my missed period I get a positive pregnancy test (and then 15 more just to make sure). 1 week later I start bleeding like a normal period. I went to my doctor and she did an hcg level blood test which also shows pregnancy at a very early stage. According to my last period I would have been 6 weeks pregnant. But I am not pregnant. Can anyone relate to this?
If you don't konw when you ovulated you do'nt know how far along you should be. hCG cannot determine how far along or how viable a pregnancy is, only if one is present. Bleeding could be for any reason and if it was a miscarriage that is not a false pregnancy, that is pregnancy loss.
Do you have a follow up with your doctor?
And I'll let someone else deal with the Clomid. I'll just say stay away from it unless you're being properly monitored by an RE.
Son: Jackson, 11/02/06, stillborn due to PPROM and IUGR. Over the next ten years we had 9 miscarriages from 8-14 weeks. On May 18, 2016 my daughter, Ridley, was born. We're OADNBC.
Very sorry for your loss. I had a similar experience although was only 5 wks, I and my dr, consider it a blighted ovum or a chemical pregnancy- my hcg level was below five after just a few days of bleeding. I wish you well.
If you had hcg in your system, it was not a "false pregnancy." You were actually pregnant, but had a miscarriage. I'm sorry. Calling it a false pregnancy kind of diminishes your legitimate feelings about it.
I will never understand. No one was even slightly mean or snarky.
