Vitamins/Supplements?

  • Thanks guys. I thought they would be getting a supplement but I guess not. At our 12 month visit I was told to keep up the vitamin D and get a flouride supplement. He's a picky eater now so I was thinking of adding a multivitamin but I guess not.

  • My co-workers 15 month old is a super picky eater as in she doesn't eat any table food other than like applesauce - unlike my child that eats his weight in food but remains so skinny!! Anyways, her ped has her daughter on Poly Vi Sol with Iron drops along with 2 Carnation Instant Breakfasts a day.

  • We still do vitamin D drops.
  • None here either

  • We still do vitamin D drops for E. V gets a daily infant/toddler multivitamin powder (including iron and vitamin D) mixed into applesauce because she had low iron levels at her 9 and 12 month appointments. Her iron level increased nicely between 9 and 12 months due to the supplement, but it was still slightly low last time so I want to see it above 11 before I take her off the vitamins.

We are using the Poly-Vi-Sol with iron because LO had low iron at her 12 month (and 9 month) appointments.  If it wasn't for that I don't think we'd be doing any vitamins.

How are you giving the vitamins? LO gags and freaks out if I directly give them to her, and if I put them in milk or something she refuses it....

I put them in her milk.

What if you tried mixing them in with applesauce?

  • ^ this. Our multivitamin is a powder so I mix it into applesauce.

  • They don't test for iron in the UK so they go by the WHO guidelines which is vitamin supplements up until 5yo. I give the wellkid multivitamin drops.

None here. I still nurse DS and although he is a picky eater he still eats good variety.
