When did you start your period?

I am 4 weeks pp. Formula feeding. My bleeding for the past week has been very dark brown, going through no less than 4 pads a day. And it seemed to be more each day. Then I woke up this morning to normal bleeding. Bright red and heavy like the first day of my period. I've been having crampy symptoms for a couple days too. I started on the pill 2 weeks pp. I guess this is my period? Anyone else start about a month pp?

10.5 weeks, formula feeding. Very thankful because my OB wanted me to do Provera to induce it if I hadn't by 12 weeks and I really didn't want to have to go that route

Stopped bleeding after two weeks, then had one week off before it came back at only 4 weeks pp, and I was also devastated by how greatly my supply was diminished. Working on getting it back up now...

BF and mini pill and I started at 5 weeks PP. It sucked, cramping and bleeding were terrible.

Those of you BF...are you getting your period because you are on the pill? I'm not on any bc, exclusively bf and haven't gotten my period at almost 13 weeks pp

With both of my girls I didn't get my period until they were consistently going more than four hours between feeds twice a day while BF. It happened about 6 months pp since solids were starting to be introduced regularly. I anticipate since I'll be going back to work when DS is 3mo that I'll get it shortly after the start of the school year... Boo. Don't want to deal with separation from baby, weaning from EBF to pumping and supplementing and my period coming back. I'll probably be a hot mess. Good luck to my incoming freshman!

I started the mini pill at 6 weeks PP, and got my period the very next day. Sorry DH! I was EBF at that time too.

I stopped PP bleeding at 4 weeks and started mini pill, at 6 weeks started bleeding again, lasted for 3 days (light, no cramping). I am EBF. I asked my doc if it was my period and she said very unlikely...apparently it was still PP bleeding. There is something called the "6 week bleed" that many moms get who are EBF

Nothing yet, but I didn't get it with DD until 11 mo pp. Fingers crossed!

DD1 was 16 months when my period returned I'm hoping for similar results with DD2.

Oh, and I nursed DD1 for 2 yrs.

interesting, the same thing happened to me but at 7 weeks and I EBF. I had three days of really light bleeding after the pp stuff stopped at about 5 weeks. I thought it was a period but people have said their first pp period was heavy and crampy, which wasn't what I experienced. Everyone is different, though, so...

I read this thread title and thought "I don't know..I think I was 11, maybe 12 years old?" I obviously need more sleep.

With DD I went over a year with out one I was EBF.

@mommyp710 I've been wondering the same exact thing and have held off starting the mini pill for this reason.  Interested to know more of who else had this happen when they started the pill.

I totally thought mine was a period too, but it didn't feel like one so I was glad I asked! Hopefully we all have months to go before it really comes back. No period at 5 weeks pp. With my 1st I got it at 6 months when breastfeeding began to reduce with the introduction of solids. "planning" on at least that again this time. I refuse to breastfeed AND have a period for very long!

If anything it was really light cramping at first, but then it stopped and there was just light bleeding for two days after.

My last period was before I had DD, so, November 2011.
For reals.
I started the mini pill at six weeks and EBF. I stopped taking the mini pill right after her first birthday when we decided to TTC. She dropped our morning and night feedings around the time I got my BFP.

I'm just about 8 weeks PP and still haven't had a period. I've been on the mini pill for three weeks now.

Both times before I got my period 8-9 months postpartum- I breastfed each child until 15 months and went back to work @ 3 months. I'm anticipating it'll be the same this time around too.

6 weeks pp and nothing yet. I didn't get my period until 6 months pp after my first pregnancy and I stopped bfing after 2 months then ff. So here's to hoping for at least another 6 months of being period free!

EBF, got mine on Friday a 6 weeks, do bitter!! With my 1st daughter I got it at 5 months pp.

FTM here...my OB said it would be a year before I got mine again if I continue to exclusively breastfeed. Not sure if I'll be able to keep this up when I go back to work in Sept. Going to try hard and hope my supply goes up in the meantime so I can start stocking/freezing milk!

With DS I got my first real period at 6 months PP. I had a really light period at 5 months PP. DS was EBF and we hadn't really started solids once it came back, so I don't actually think a reduction in BFing was the culprit. No BC with DS.

No period yet with DD. she is also EBF, no BC yet (waiting on metal allergy tests to get Paraguard). Hoping to hold off at least 6 months, hopefully longer!

I/m 6.5 weeks PP and still spotting. With my first kid I didn't get a period till after a year. I'm thinking of getting the Mirena this week even though it is so soon PP and am scared about what that might entail.
