Was she rude or am I being over sensitive?

I went to my 6 week postpartum appointment today, and also got an iud. After the iud was put in they sent me to get an ultrasound to make sure it was in right and the ultrasound tech said "I'm surprised you could even get pregnant with all these cysts! Be glad you had this one because you might not have anymore"

1.) Techs are not trained or capable of making clinical judgments like that. Not OK.

2.) Telling someone how they should feel ("be glad you had this one!) is NEVER OK.

Thanks ladies, I wasn't sure if it was just me. But I'm definitely going to be calling the office tomorrow.

Normally if someone asks if they're being overly sensitive, I find they tend to be but in this case?  No freaking way.  I'm surprised you didn't complain on the spot, actually (that's not a judgement - I'm impressed with your restraint)

Definitely out of line...hearing that from a u/s tech would freak me the fuck out and probably make a whole issue for the doctor to have to deal with. Not OK for the tech to be diagnosing anything.

Thanks again ladies. Just an update, I called the office to complain and basically got a generic "thank you for bringing that to our attention well look in to it" I have a feeling nothing is going to be done.
