IVF complications?

Okay, I had a major meltdown this morning.

I have two follicular cysts causing pain.  Saw RE yesterday who basically told me to come back in on CD 2 to evaluate and possibly start meds. This got me to thinking about what would happen if I started treatment and had a complication- i.e.: OHSS? and up in the hospital.

I called my insurance to find out if any hospital visits would be covered.  They told me that because that would be the result of a fertility (UNCOVERED) treatment that NO coverage would be available for treatment.  So basically if I ended up in the hospital because I overstimulated or had an issue we would be 100% out of pocket.

WTF?! WHAT?! I am a mess.  I know that it's negative to think there will be a problem but I am the girl whose mom got cancer the year her dad died.  Shit happens and bad luck seems to follow me.  Can anyone speak to complications they've had or issues they've had with insurance.

HOW CAN INSURANCE NOT COVER THAT? If I jumped in front of a car being an idiot that would be covered but not this?!  I am so angry/freaked out/upset.

Me: 27 DH: 27

October 2013: Endo erosion/ Clear HSG

March 2014: SA #1/  2%morph, borderline sperm count, decent motility

June 2014: SA#2/  2% morph, low sperm count, worse motility

Plan: "Quick Start IVF"/antagonist protocol with Follistim, Ganirelix, Ovidrel and progesterone suppositories (yay)

High AMH (11) and Low BMI= low doses of everything to prevent OHSS

July 27, 2014: Started Follistim injections for ten days

July 31, 2014: U/S= 20 follicles, 8.5 lining, E2 is good, Ganirelix for 4 days starting 8/2

August 4, 2014: 14 follicles on-track, good lining, Trigger 8/6

August 9, 2014: 9 ICSIed/ 5 embryos; aiming for a 5dt on 8/13

August 13, 2014: 5DT of 1 4BA almost-hatching blastocyst (Please hang in, Little Bug!)

August 14, 2014: We have 3 frosties! Hope they're having fun hanging out together. :)

August 23, 2014: Beta #1: 144 8/23/14: Beta #2: 374 Beta 8/25/14  Beta #3: 6,600 9/3/14

September 9, 2014: Ultrasound #1 115 heartbeats per minute

September 23, 2014: Ultrasound #2 182 heartbeats per minute 

September 26, 2014: Love my OB's office

October 10, 2014: Our baby looks like a baby and is moving all over!  

December 8, 2014: Anatomy scan- It's a girl!

    I agree with PP, that does not sound right. Ie my pregnancy is a result of fertility treatments however my insurance pays for my pregnancy related medical costs ...

    This was true of my insurance as well when I did IVF. I ended up doing a clinical trial for IVF which gave me extra peace of mind since the trial would have covered me for complications if I had been overstimmed. Sh!tty insurance. It would be the same with a cosmetic surgery complication. Wtf, not even in the same ballpark.

    IVF #1 ET 1 d3 embryo 10/30/11 BFP
    3 Embryos frozen (1 d5, 2 d6)

    DS born 07/29/12

    FET #1 ET 1 d5 embryo 02/10/15 BFN

    FET #2 1 d6 embryo didn't survive thaw, transferred last d6. CP :(
