Trying to Get Pregnant

Chart confusion

Does your temp spike the day of ovulation or after? Also, is it normal to have outlier temps but every one else is consistent?

Temp goes up the day after ovulation and yes, like pp said it can also be a slow rise. You can have outlier temps, that is why you need 3 high temps to confirm ovulation.

Oh thanks that makes everything a lot more clear. Basically I had consistent temps right around 97.4 and then yesterday it shot up to 97.9 and today back to 97.

And ok hereistreble I'll go to the site and try that.

Hopefully that works. Unfortunately I'm missing a few temps due to waking up super late on the weekend and on Tuesday I was on call for work and got a call at 5 and had to jump up and leave. But you can still see the consistency and the random outlier.

Aside from the random spike, I would be more concerned by the exact temps being given. Are you using a BBT or a regular thermometer?

ETA - you can see by my chart (sorry mobiles its in my siggy) that the same temps are rare.

  • I'm using a regular thermometer. Before any more replies I should make clear we're ntnp so were not super concerned with the charting. It's more for my benefit as a female.

  • You are looking for a SUSTAINED rise in temps, not just one high temp. I think you might try doing the fertility friend tutorials again. Also you need to temp every day.
    My TTC History:
    2009: missed miscarriage #1 at 9 weeks (trisomy 16)
    2010: Infertility
2011: Diagnosis and treatment (low sperm count, anastrozole for DH, clomid for me + IUI)
    2012: Baby #1
    2014: Baby #2
October 2015: missed miscarriage #2 at 11 weeks (trisomy 22)
    March 2016 BFP#5, due November 2016.

  • Yeah, you need to try to get a temp every day. Even when you do O, which I don't think you have, I think FF is going to be wishy washy since you don't have temps from every day. Even though you are NTNP, I would at least be consistent charting your CM too, which is helpful when trying to pinpoint O.

I know, I'll pull the I'm super busy with work card. On weekends I sleep late when I can to catch up in lost sleep during the week and I'm also on call about once a week and sometimes weekends. But I'm trying to make it all a habit so I don't forget!

Thanks guys for all the replies you've been a great help.
