can my wife be pregnant?

Hello everyone, my wife and i have been ttc for three years now, she has pcos, its her second time getting the hcg trigger shot, shes on dpo12 and she took 2, dollar store tests and got really faint positives, so we went out and got generic frer to see if it would be a positive, but it was negative, she then took two more dollar store ones and again a faint pink line, so i took one, and had my mom take one of the same dollar test to see if it was just giving faint positives but she and i got negative and no sign at all of a faint line, so then we bought an actual name brand frer and she again got a negative. Could she be pregnant and the more expensive tests not be detecting her hcg hormones? She will retest again in the morning but just thought id ask if anyone had experienced anything similar?

I agree with @Rumbera28‌. I have heard of people getting positives on the dollar store tests first so it is possible she doesn't have enough hcg yet for the other brands. However, it could still be from the trigger shot too. Good luck with the tests today.

I can't help but admit that I laughed when I read the subject of this post....
I'm just throwing it out there that most people here have never even gotten a "faint" positive so it's kind of hard to share similar experiences. The closest "faint" positive I've ever gotten was when I was testing out my trigger shot....
PS. I would kill my DH if he did this haha!!

@rella22‌ Haha, yeah I've never gotten a faint anything! I figured if he took one and it was negative than it must be a real positive. I kind of want an update just because I've never seen a husband post on here before!

I think I was headed down the same road....maybe it was just being a tad jealous that this guy knows so much about it and my hubs knows so little haha!

@bluejoan I agree, it probably should've been posted somewhere else. I also don't get when people are confused about results? There are directions on them; and if you're working with a doctor you can always call them and ask. On the other hand, I think because it was the H i was a little less bothered by it, idk why though!

Dude, your wife got 4 positive HPTs. Sounds like she might be pregnant. Call the doctor about betas to be sure. We don't know you or your wife, so no need to update us about whether or not she's pregnant, as far as I'm concerned, but maybe I'm just bitchy...

I'm seriously laughing that mom and the OP took a test too. This has never crossed my mind to have other people take test when I'm confused about the lines.

Seriously though, yes it's happened to me. My second medicated cycles at 12dpo the cheap test showed positive and the FRER was negative. The next day the FRER was very faint positive and then I was getting negative and faint positives on the cheap test. I went in for beta on 14 dpo and it was 8 and was bleeding, ended up being a cp. My story means absolutely nothing to your wife's case. All you can do is take a FRER with FMU tomorrow.

I didn't know he also posted on IF and now I think I'm starting to change my mind about how I feel! I'm sorry for encouraging an update. I think I just thought since it was the husband it was different to me somehow. Sorry everyone.

I can't shake this....I keep thinking that if this had been posted by a female...the replies would have been mostly snark about how no one can see in your ute. Why are we so much nicer to a dude?

@ronniesgirl1981, I don't know if the responses would've been much different. From what I've seen, the board as been very friendly and tolerant of "Could I be pregnant?" kinds of posts lately.

I'm impressed he's got the acronyms down! My H will throw "DH" around sometimes if he's teasing me about being on TB, but he'd be lost with the majority of the acronyms used on the boards.
