Swim diaper question

My MIL thought she was being helpful, and for the most part she was...we just spent the weekend at the beach with her, DS pooped in his swim diaper (and it did it's job well). She took him back to the room, undressed him, bathed him and dressed him. All which was a huge help! But she took his swim diaper off, and just put it in a grocery bag, didn't tell me he pooped. She asked if we needed laundry done before we left, so she threw a load in, including the swim diaper (luckily it was plop able poop, and she plopped it), but didn't spray it or anything (she had no idea what she was doing, she was just trying to help). Now I'm home, and it's stained, big time...stains usually don't bother me, but for some reason it does in his swim diaper. Will sunning it help? If it ever stops raining at my house. I would never say anything to her, she was just trying to help. We used disposables other than his swim diapers. So I didn't even realize she washed the swim diaper with everything else.
