Hi guise, it's me, it's jennlin (the 2nd). I had to eat the other competition because it was getting close and I couldn't deal with the pressure. I'm a nervous eater.

I'm sorry that it wasn't announced beforehand. Like @kimbo1216 said, it happened really fast. Kimbo threw it out there yesterday afternoon in a large group setting with a lot of "regulars" involved, but not everyone. Many people expressed that they weren't ready to abandon the board, and te option would be to get a co-mod. Nobody volunteered, but Kimbo felt it was necessary. For convenience, she used past experience and threw my name out there to the bump gods, and they agreed that it was simple enough and went through with it.

I was contacted by bumpjackie this morning, and I agreed to the terms. After I sent the email, less than 5 mins later it became official.

We did not anticipate such an uproar, since there was no fight when Kimbo was appointed (she was also appointed, not voted for). We figured nobody would care since being a mod is kinda lame/nerdy anyway. It's like being the hall monitor in school--you're there simply to enforce the rules and nobody really cares about the mod.

Kimbo is still mod, I'm just gonna be the vice-mod for when she's not around. We don't have a lot of issues on the board, but the last few times we needed a mod, Kimbo was out for a day or two-that's when I would step in.

However, I do want to unsticky the car seat thread. Any objections?

You can unsticky those yourself...I'm not sure how to do it via mobile, but the global (non Kimbo ones), on a desktop, hover over the title and the "gears" come ip and you can click unsticky.

I also think, like, look at the level of work/discussion/etc that went into not one, but two rounds of superlatives. And really, neither of you thought anyone would care to vote on who the co-mod was? I mean, that's semi-major compared to the level of trivial detail we discuss things in around here. Just saying.

That being said, the majority voted to keep jennlin versus voting on somebody else, so that's enough for me. The will of the people. #democracyllamasatisfied

TBH, I think that's why all the folks on FB were wondering why a decision had already been made. It was mentioned, not discussed, on FB and zero names were thrown around.


Do mods get paid? What sort of paperwork is required?

I have no issue with the co-mod deal or that jennlin was chosen. I think she will be a great and fair vice mod. I think it's that those of us here were left in the dark about the co-mod request.

Also not part of FB group. I knew one was started way back in like 1st tri and a bunch of randoms joined but no regs seemed to. Most thought it was way too early for one. I did not know there was a FB group a lot of the regs were part of. And don't worry I'm not butthurt over it.

This makes more sense.  I didn't know there was a facebook group, but I have been slacking on TB time until recently so that's my own fault.  I think Jennlin will be a great moderator, but that discussion shouldn't have happened there.

They really weren't made on the fb group. If you scroll up you will see the conversation that took place. We were all just as surprised about the mod change. No one decided anything on fb.

Okay, fair enough, but the future of the board was being discussed and that makes me feel left out.
