I just found out on Monday that I am expecting. I have been using Veet "down there" for years and loved it. But now that I have a bun in the oven I am very worried about using it again. I plan on asking my doctor at my first appointment next month but what do you think?
Re: Is it ok to use Veet "down there?"
2) My OB cleared Veet use. The skin on the outside of your vulva has no real affect on the baby in your uterus.
3) I tried Veet during my pregnancies but my skin was too sensitive & it burned me. So, it's harmless for your fetus, but it might feel like burning pain for your vulva & bikini area.
4) I would switch to getting waxed vs. the lotion hair removal. It still hurts like an unbelievable bitch, but it tends to be easier on the skin in my experience.

My Chart
1) we are adults that can use proper terminology
2) "down there" is not specific. Down there could mean: vulva, perineum, anus, ass crack, bikini line, legs-- there is whole lot of anatomy from the waist downward. Asking about whether it's alright to use Veet on a certain area it probably helps to tell us where.
3) Teaching children proper parts of the body is empowering them to own their bodies & accurately describe them. That is important.
Just like I don't call sex "baby dancing". Cutesie terms are a waste of time. I'm a straight forward person. I say what I mean & I mean what I say.
So yeah, it's not that it's "wrong" to use euphemism. It's that each euphemism could mean different things to different people. Best just to cut to the chase.

You obviously don't listen (or can't read) too well. Quit being annoying.
