TTC After a Loss

NTTCALR - rats

So we moved into campus housing about a week ago and have since discovered an unwanted guest - a Templeton, if you will - who is in my kitchen chewing my drain pipe at this very moment. Here it is midnight so I'm not sure what we will do about it. We have a trap set but I guess the drain is more interesting at the moment.

DH just drove up so might have an update (or picture) of this rat to show off in a bit. X_X

Did you know that, apparently, there are no rats in the province I live in (Alberta)?
This statement reminded me of the movie An American Tail and the song "There Are No Cats In America".  LOL

@lydsiemarie7 I'm sorry, that would freak me out...I hope your husband can get rid of it quickly for you!

Kt- I'm jealous! Rats are super common in china. Dh even saw someone throw a deaf rat on a grill once!

Mrskush - thanks! No progress so far. Sneaky little guy wouldn't show his face. We are going to bed and hoping he will take the bait and be in the trap tomorrow AM! Ps. Great song reference.

  • Pet rats are cute. Wild rats are gross. Luckily, they're very uncommon where I live, but we had shrews when we lived in the country XP

(psst, at least it's not a snake in your laundry!)

  • I screamed, dropped my laundry and literally ran up two floors. I'm pretty sure I missed a few stairs on the way up. MH was out, so I called my dad in Florida (not that he could do anything). He laughed at me and told me to go take a picture. I told him he was crazy lol.
We eventually found out that it was my neighbors from two doors down. It had been missing for a week. Still not sure how it got to my apartment.

  • I also like snakes but finding one in a weird place would freak me out too.

No news on the rat front at home tho. Hasn't been near the trap an we haven't seen him. We just still hear him in our plumbing.
