WTF Wednesday

Is anyone's day starting out like a crap sandwich? Please share and commiserate with me.

While getting ready for work today, Emerson had a poopsplosion in the pack and play, which he also puked in. I cleaned him up, put him in his crib with toys, and he pulled himself up to stand -- and then fell down and bonked his head on a giraffe. Took him out, put him on the floor by me in the bathroom, and he pulled the baby gate down on himself -- at which time I freak out, and end up grabbing the hot end of my curling iron, scalding my palm. Then, I put him in the living room and he crawls over, dumps the dog water, soaking his clothes...laughs about it, and then crawls over and pinches his fingers in the glider.

We left for daycare 2 hours late, both of us in tears.

I need to babyproof. TONIGHT.

Ugh! Sounds like an awful start.  I'm so sorry.  I hope your day gets better.

I'm fighting with the pediatrician.  They wrongfully charged me over $100 and after waiting 2 weeks for a refund, the office manager now tells me I need to request the refund in writing so they can give it to their accountant.  

I think our days with this pediatrician are numbered. They have dropped the ball way too many times. (Twice we called the emergency line and didn't get a call back, Olivia had a barking cough for over a month and they never gave her anything, etc.)  They are very highly rated, and it's hard to get into the practice, but I can't see what all the hoopla is about.

WTF DH? So on Monday I call him at 8 pm, he's fine, I'm on my way home. By 8:30 pm he is laying on the floor (DS crawling on top of him) and he says he has fever and chills, and he is noticeably stuffed up. He goes to bed immediately, I put DS down for the night. By 10 DH says he feels better. So yesterday he was fine.

I stayed up til 11:30 last night, DH is already in bed. At 3 am he is walking around making noise, so I ask what's up, turns out he never went to sleep last night!!! So he called off work today to sleep. But seriously, DH, WTF is wrong with you this week?!?

And thanks for the tip, @PharmTechMom1216! I'm definitely going to try that. Right now, I'm holding onto a cold bottle of caffeine (which, I wish was beeeeer).

@deedee1017 (I totes remembered your #s!) I'm thinking about switching pedis, too, for similar reasons. So frustrating. Is O still coughing?

This morning I would like to throat punch DH and his friend.  His friends Great Dane walked through our patio screen door which I then tried to fix (because if I didn't do it we just wouldn't have a screen door) but I couldn't get the corner of the screen right.  Cue flying ant invasion in our house last night. Im now scared at my hair touching my shoulder since I think its a flying ant.

She is not still coughing.  She finally got over whatever it was--2 months later when the office welcomed a new physician's assistant.  She was great and gave O two rounds of antibiotics which finally cleared things up.  I don't think it makes up for all the other crap though, so I don't know. I really like one of the doctors and the nurses, but wtf!

That's a tough call. I love-love our pedi's front desk staff and the NP, but the actual doctor is kind of a bitch. Plus, I catch her giving me outdated advice about everything under the sun, which is frustrating. I'm glad she's feeling better now!  :x

I would have to agree with this but unfortunately here in GA school for my county starts August 4th! I HATE that they go back so early. I don't care that they get out right before Memorial Day. I'd rather go into June and then not start back until late August.

They start back up after the 1st Monday in September here. But don't start summer vacation til July 1st

We were just talking about this yesterday at work.  I remember, as a kid, when it got to mid-August I was already bored and starting to look forward to going back to school.  Now, it feels like it's done in a flash!

I didn't think it would be too hard to find Disney Planes birthday party invitations.  DD1 has requested a Planes birthday party this year.  Three stores and NOTHING.  Somewhere has to have something, especially since they just came out with the second one right.  I mean come one, I have two more stores to try then I might have to force her to pick something  else.

Yes! We got out in the first week of June and didn't start until the first week of September.

WTF emotions!! I went & saw a therapist today. I made it through the entire session without shedding one tear until the very end when she asked me "Who are the top three positive supporters in your life?" I couldnt fricken answer the question because I dont think I have anyone!!! I started bawling.. AWESOME!!! Needless to say, she wants me back in 2 weeks!! I am glad I went though, I think this will be good for me.

Also, WTF teenage girls making out at the fair last night. PDA= GROSS!!

School starts here the Monday after Labor Day, so the commercials seem reeeeeeeally early to me. UGH.

I feel like eventually they may go to year round school.

Some schools around us (Michigan) have moved to year-round school with great outcomes! The kids love it and so do the parents. It was a rough, well-publicized, dreaded move, but it's worked out well.

j/k-I'm proud that you went.  It's a big step.  I hope you start feeling better soon.  If you don't have many people in your life who can understand what you are going through right now (life changes and all) it is hard to feel supported.

My session was only 45 minutes. I only had so much time to divulge so I had to save the bumpies for next time. TBH, I feel like some of you are the only true support I have that is non-judgmental. DH thinks it's stupid I'm going and doesn't see the point of it. She asked if I had friends I could turn to, and IRL close to me, the answer is no, and I lost it. It's so frustrating.

She said I was brave for coming and this is the first step to feeling better so I'm rly hoping she's right!

@afolske106‌ I understand. DH thinks psychological issues are "in people's heads" and they can simply get over them. We agree to disagree, but with that being said, he doesn't understand if I'm feeling alone or depressed. I have a sister, but she has a bad attitude in general so there's no support on my end either.
@KerCo51‌ DH left Sophie in a restaurant. There was no second Sophie.

Oh no, @ElleStaxx! That's awful. Like @jgslr told me earlier in this thread (and I'm trying my damndest to believe it), we can't protect them all the time. Give him lots of hugs and kisses when you see him -- and try not to beat yourself up. You're a good mom!

I haven't seen my boss in over a year. He's coming to visit tomorrow and Friday.

I should be cleaning my office but shopping online instead...for school supplies and clothes. Ours starts Aug. 4.

Sleep baby sleep. A four hour nap yesterday and up since three am and a fifteen minute nap today. Pretty sure her ear is bothering her, but without fever don't think the dr will do anything.
