Valium?

I am having FET on Monday.  Should I ask for valium?  is there any bad side effect on it? What is everyone experience on that?

I had my ET yesterday and was given Valium to take about 15 minutes before the procedure.  It was explained to me that the main purpose of it is to relax your muscles, mainly your uterine muscles, so that you do not have cramping during or after the transfer.  It worked like a charm for me.  I'm very sensitive to medications like that, so it relaxed me completely.  I got really tired after and took a nap when I got home.  

I had no cramps at all and also didn't even feel the catheter go in.  During my IUI cycles I always felt the catheter go in and I had horrible cramping afterwards as well.

I've taken valium to fly (I really hate heights) and it works well. When it wore off I was a little sleepy and it seems to make me chatty. Pretty much any thought in my head I felt needed to be shared.

I never took valium for any procedures. My ET was totally fine. The only thing I really felt was the speculum and RE cleaning my cervix. I did not feel the catheter and had no cramping. 

I was surprised because in the past when I had an HSG or saline sono, I felt the cather and it was uncomfortable for sure. Maybe they use a smaller catheter for transfer.

I've always used a valium before transfers. I was told it's to relax the uterine muscles so there isn't issues with the catheter.

Thanks for asking this. I had one transfer with valium (bfp), one without (bfn). This is reminding me that I want to ask for it this time around, just in case it made a difference. The procedure felt no different, although valium is FUN!! Transfer didn't go as smoothly second time, but not sure if it was related.
