This check-in is for mommas who lost a baby due in the month of August (any year), and any late loss mommas who gave birth and lost their precious angel in August.

Hello August ladies,

        I hope you are well!  Things are super busy for me right now.  I had a great visit from my BFF on Saturday. I am tutoring lots of kids for $ on the side, so they all want to get in sessions before school starts back up.  It's good because all this activity keeps my mind off the TWW.  I O'd on Sunday.  And I have an appt on Thurs for a progesterone check.  This is my first round of Clomid. 

        I'm enjoying my garden immensely now, especially since my new countertop went in, and I can use my sink and dishwasher.  We did butchblock on part of the kitchen (my husband cut and installed it), and a small area of marble.  My husband did all of the plumbing--I was so impressed!!  Now it's up to me to paint cabinet doors--I don't know why I find that so daunting.

QOTW--no subscription boxes for me.  But I do subscribe to some magazines like This Old House, plus some other home mags.

In spite of FF's shenanigans, I think yesterday was O day. I can hardly believe that today would have marked one month out from our EDD. I don't think DH realizes that yet.

QOTW:
No subscription boxes for me. No magazines either at the moment. I used to enjoy getting InStyle and Runner's World, but I really don't have a minute to read much of anything at the moment.

@NoeliaV - FX you O'd yesterday, how was your timing if you did?

@sfazar- sounds like you have a very handy man there! Hopefully you can get the motivation to paint.

FF is being banana cupcakes still, but when it ends up moving O to CD15, we'll have good timing. O-2, O-1 and O. We were supposed to HIO yesterday, but ended up not. I'll kick myself for that if this is another unsuccessful cycle.

@sfazar How nice to have some kitchen renovations! Congrats to you and DH!  Glad you're able to keep busy during 2ww.  It's so hard to keep the mind off things sometimes.

@noeliaV  Good luck this cycle.  Sorry FF is being wonky.

@mara005  Thank you for the offer of support.  I am thinking of you all as the month approaches.

I started using OPKs today to track O for a natural FET.  My tentative transfer date is currently one day before EDD due to a short cycle last month.  I'm still stressed and a bit scatter-brained, but putting off cycling wouldn't have made me any better.  I need to keep moving.

DH just called a bit ago to tell me he was promoted to a benefit-eligible position. Not sure when that'll officially start, but it'll be nice to have more options with our benefits. (We're currently on my benefits for insurance, but his should be better than mine.)  He will, however, be changed to night shifts so that'll be a big change. (7pm-7:30 am).

LundleBean   Congrats on your husband's news!  That's fantastic!  My DH also works nights occasionally.  It's actually not too bad when you have a whole string of nights.  I know that he'll wake up at 6:00 pm, we have an hour for supper together, and he sometimes wakes me up in the morning when he comes home

            Good luck with the OPKs.  I know people complain about them, but I have found them pretty accurate.  I always get my positive 14 days before AF.

 

It's funny, but I am really not consumed with the EDD.  My husband brought it up the other day, and I sort of shrugged. I've been working really hard at thinking that my past doesn't determine my future, so I'm approaching this new cycle with a lot of positive energy, and it feels good.
