Child Mentioned: First IUI- Waiting to do BETA test

Hello,

 

I am 34 with PCOS and my DH is 35. We recently got married and are TTC. I am currently seeing a RE from the same practice that helped me conceive my son 8 years ago. This time around I was put on different medications and had to do an IUI this month. This is our first cycle trying it this way. The IUI was 2 weeks ago and I will go for my BETA test this Thursday. the 2ww is driving me crazy. I took a HPT today for I couldn't wait anymore and it came back negative. With my son this too was the case. I was never able to get a BFP with a HPT. I though this time with the help of the meds and the IUI it might have made my levels stronger. now I have to wait and hope that the HCG levels were just not high enough but that they will be detected in the blood work. I'm scared that the IUI might not have worked and well the emotions of going through this multiple times makes me sad. I know there is still a window of hope with the blood test but I don't want to have false expectations either.

How many of you know of successes with 1 round of IUI? after how many IUI's do you try something else? I was put on orals and injectables this cycle so I hope they got the combination right for it to work.

Thanks girls. I just wondered what your doctors has told you as to how many times you'd try. I don't want to be negative but also fear being naive. I guess one has to hope for the best but prepare just in case you don't get the outcome you wish for
